Probably because we wouldn't offer him 60k a week 5 year deal when he can't even pass a medical which the likes of Aurelio, Aquilani and Degen did. That's a big enough reason not to sign him.

Well our wage cap is 50k so it would appear you dont know anything about the deal, or how tight Mike Ashley is.

I have a feeling you are a bit... bit.. just a tad.. bitter? <sour graphs>

We will be signing a better left winger and we've already got Maxi as back up, so I'm not bothered. I'm actually glad that we never got him, as he wanted 60k on a 5 year deal, which is ridiculous for a crock like him who struggles to play a full season.

Im saying we were offering him 60k and a 5 year deal before the medical, so obviously after failing a medical we either withdrew or offer or made it significantly lower.

Maybe it's similar to Ba? basic weekly wage(20k - 30k pw) with BIG added bonuses depending on apps/goals/etc.. ?

Sorry if this has already been posted, can't be bothered to read all 3 pages, but is anyone else concerned by the fact he doesn't seem to have any arms?

On Marveaux, all I know is I'm reliably informed he did fail a medical. #LFC thought they had him. #nufc building good - if fragile - squad.

And where have I said he's ****e? I've said I didn't want him because of injury record, I've never watched him play so I have no idea if he's any good or not. And I came on here to discuss Newcastle signing Marveaux, because I wanted to discuss us not signing him. Just because I'm not bothered that we didn't get him it doesn't mean I'm not allowed to discuss him.

And Westlife aren't that bad.

wow some twat on twitter said so omg and read my post again i didn't say you said he was shyte i said you were talking shyte
no you came on to say he's a crock that's why you didn't sign him would you have popped over if you had signed him to discuss it ....nah i doubt it
"because I wanted to discuss us not signing him" so why not do it how ze liverbird did and state facts.

I noticed! Maybe you're willing to take a risk on him, and we weren't wanting to take that risk, especially on a 5 year contract.

That is a crock. Injuries happen to all players and it is rare for a player to be 100% fit, they are usually recovering from something or showing some sort of knock or strain.

But didn't you recently sign an injured Carroll on a five year £90k/week deal? He wouldn't have been able to pass a medical at the time either as he was injured and I seem to recall that he was injured for most of the rest of the season.

But now you won't sign Marveaux sighting medical reasons yet he passed a medical with us. I know which story I believe because the Liverpool version doesn't sound true to form.

Accept it something happened during negotiations which he didn't like and you lost him to us.

Marveaux: "I did speak with Liverpool, but they didn't have the ambition and reasurrance of the future that Newcastle and the manager gave me"

Twitter, were every 12 year old is a reliable informant <doh>

He's the Telegraphs Merseyside football reporter.

No, I wouldn't have come on this board if we'd have signed him, as you wouldn't have even known of your interest in him and I doubt you'd be interested in discussing a free transfer you hadn't been linked with before. I was calling Aurelio a crock to when we resigned him on a 2 year deal, it's like you're not allowed an opinion on other teams signings unless it's a positive one, even if your opinion would be the same if they were signing for your own club.

Not all arguments can, or have to be, factual.

So if it is because he failed a medical, how the **** did AC pass!!!!!

Surely for £35 Mill I'd want to know he last time he sneezed FFS
