Marv is our only winger who knows what to do in the final third, should not have to wait imo.

Good lad, that's what we like to hear. No player can really come out and say "I should be playing". They all know football and you rarely change a winning team. His time will come as Obertan and Jonas will not just play every game. He simply has to be ready to take it when his chance comes along. Given his double for the reserves, it looks as though he has no problem with commitment or sulking. His time will come.

Can't believe people still saying we have no competition up front in our team. Yes we know we need a striker, Pardew knows we need a striker, virtually every person on the planet knows we need a striker, I was watching the game the other day and my cat turned round and said we needed another striker. We didn't get one in the window but is obviously a priority in the next window but for ****s sake let it lie. We need a striker. We know.

and his crossing is unbelievable, Shane Ferguson at 20 is a much better crosser of the ball than Jonas and Obertan... it says a lot about Jonas and Obertan that our best crosses so far have come from Tiote and Leon Best.

Best has surprised me of late with his crossing. He's not one for picking out headers but he puts in some devilish balls into the corridor of uncertainty that fellow strikers will lap up. The thing I like about his crossing is they're always whipped with pace, defenders hate this

I remember him doing that early on in the Championship for a Carroll goal, he's definitely got them in his arsenal.

Obertan was incredible in France for Bordeaux, reckon if we persist with him we will be rewarded. Saying that, it will be tough for him with Ben Arfa, Marveaux, Ferguson and Sameobi all challenging for a start and all having great potential as well.

On the striker front, I think Best, Ba, Ben Arfa and Vuckic are all good enough (although Vuckic is unproven at any senior level) but they could be improved upon and I think we all fully expect/hope that will happen in January.

In defense, I would like to see Onuoha over Ridgewell as he is also quality at right back and lightning fast. We would then be covered in all areas with 4 CBs (Saylor, Colo, Wills and Onuoha), 2 RBs (Simpson and Raylor) and 2 LB's (Santon and Ferguson). Don't forget we still have Perch and Kadar to add to this.

So basically, in January I would like to see Onuoha (or maybe we could pinch Cahill, his contract is up in the summer although we would face fierce competition for him) plus a striker, most likely Modibo Maiga.
