Interesting to see the knives out against him so much now, just a couple of years ago he was the darling of the media, constantly lauded for his work at Wigan and Swansea, then highly praised by Everton fans for brining successful entertaining football to them while Moyes failed at Man Utd...it's only in the last few months, since Everton went on that crap run that he's but up against any fan unrest. But no, I'd rather not see him at SJP....we could do (and already have done) a hell of a lot worse though.
Flores also leaving Watford at end of the season, stupid decision by Watford, far more impressed with him than Martinez. Would go for him in a flash if Rafa leaves.
That has got to be the craziest managerial decision taken this season! That Watford owner sounds like an absolute nutter! They are now looking for their 7th manager in 4 years and they have been promoted in that time, had a successful premier league season and an FA Cup semi-final.
Always thought Martinez was overrated personally, thought when Watford got Flores they had done really well and even still he has done better than I thought he would.
I don't rate him at all. His teams seem to be well coached technically on the ball but that is where it stops. I don't think he is tactically aware. He doesn't appear to be able to give his players an inspirational rocket when required, it's all too polite. Not a leader for me.
