True DJR, but Villa and Sunderland also have much bigger fan bases and stadia. Norwich could have a sentimental value as a former club of Malky's and WBA are a well run, funded and managed club which might have an appeal although Clark seems pretty settled there at present - provided they have a reasonable start to next season but with Lukaku likely to go elsewhere they will need a quality striker.
It's been said a million times I know, but as handsome a club as Celtic are, they are streets ahead of any local competition. He would be bored silly, just winning, winning and winning. Mind you he sort of got used to that at Cardiff last season!
JH - Nothing wrong with Malky staying with us, and I very much hope he does for some time.
However, this is football and it is the nature of the game that everyone has their eyes on the bigger prize. All I was doing was illustrating the sort of clubs that could provide a future temptation for him outside of the top 7 (if asked) now it looks like Martinez will go to Everton.
I would love to see him establish us in the Prem next season and kick on from there. But football is football and you never know what is around the corner.
Norwich is probably the biggest threat but would that necessarily be a step up? I can't see Lennon leaving Celtic as those who have moved south are now out of work due to dismal failure.
