Not having a go at him, but Skrtel didn't read the game particularly well imo. However, he was up against it with Bale et al. What mystified me was the lack of cover he was given. Henderson did little to help him and for me shows he has a way to go before he should be an automatic first choice. Kuyt has his limitations, true, but one of his strengths is his ability to get up and down the line and help out his rb and he was a shoo-in for that game for me. Carra was pulled out of position trying to fill in behind Martin and that gave us more problems in the box. As for Agger, god help us- we all knew it was only a matter of time. Not his fault of course, but how can we get a solid, consistent defensive set-up if he can't play half a dozen games without breaking?
The good thing (if you can call it that) about Agger's injury is that it's not a recurrence of a previous injury, or a muscular/joint injury, which can always be a bugger to recover from, like Stevie and his groin. A couple of fractured ribs won't affect how he plays when he comes back. He can just slot straight in.
We'll be okay tomorrow, seeing as Martin Kelly came through unscathed from the game against Brighton on wednesday.
