http://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/hull...land-return/story-29684759-detail/story.html? I really do hope this is bullshit and Mike Phelan gets the gig
It reads like he hasn't signed so they're putting that together with no other evidence that the new owners want him & it's the story! Hopefully bull!
Totally agree , but saying that Martin O'Neil name has been hanging around the top end of the betting for a while now, I too hope its bs.
How could the Job go to anyone BUT Phelan after the start we've had. Moving Mike on could **** up everything!!!
I might be mistaken but it looks like our beloved rag to me. http://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/hull...land-return/story-29684759-detail/story.html?
The linked story is the HDM reporting on a story in the Sun. It's amazing how much of their content online is reporting other papers or twitter...
ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I see now. more quality journalism from our local rag. well..... its The Sun. The only snoozepaper that I figure is worse than the HDF
The players have expressed a desire for the job to be awarded to MP. That's good enough for me. It's about time this was put to bed.
The mystery last week in Ireland apparently was O'Neill not signing his new contract which was available to him prior to the Euros. Did I not read somewhere a week ago that the Chinese consortium had a liking for O'Neill (can anyone confirm that?). Meyler came out in support of Phelan and yet again doesn't get to kick a ball for ROI even against Oman in a friendly last week!!!! I hope this is BS & that Phelan gets the gig. http://www.independent.ie/sport/soc...irish-boss-martin-oneill-report-35021755.html
Let's hope the new owners do appoint O Neill so we can bear a grudge against them from day one. Getting off on the right/wrong foot, they could then go on to give opposition fans free pies, arbitrarily move some pensioners to different seats, and call the home support rubbish. The OSC will be delighted.
Would take either to be honest although Phelan already knows the squad and would imagine the players know him and his tactics pretty well by now.. Anyone else would need more time, time we might not have come February March and of course a new broom usually sweeps clean ect so would have a perfect excuse to say it was not his fault/ team that went down ect.
Phelan has done well so far but we need to see how he deals with the pressure in the tough times. Ideally I would like to see him on a short term contract until January with an option to extend if he's doing ok.
