The sacking doesn't surprise me but like above can't understand why it took so long. I quite like MON but he is a pretty basic old school manager with few 'plan Bs'. He's also hyped up quite a lot by the media when barring Celtic he hasn't really done that well as a manager. Sunderland have spent a lot of money on top of 'supposedly' having a premier squad to start with and they can't score goals even with Sessignon and Fletcher. I rate Fletcher highly and was surprised he went t.o Sunderland and not a bigger club.

Add to that Johnson who I was surprised to see the analysts tonight highlight what I have said for years, in that he tries to show off at every opportunity rather than do what he SHOULD do for his team and that's gonna be a problem.

Then you have the handling of a very good left winger's social media adventures and it all boils down to a team that are not really on terms with each other.

A lot of good players there but I can envisage several 'cliques' within the camp.

McLaren is a good shout as Midds is pretty local. Di Matteo won't go there, he'll get a much better job IMO. Lot of pressure on Sunderland and I don't think they'll ever reach the owner's ambitions.

I bet Villa can't wait to see Paolo again... (go to 1:48)
