No definately not (I'm 23 with a Bristolian accent haha), I thought it might have been one of you chaps??
It was my slot then but that guy beat me to it and I had to go to work, so told them I couldn't hang around.

I was due to go live on air when Jol was in the picture last time around as well but they always call at the most inconvenient time!

Simply great news, a very Fulhamish appointment.
Hughton as his number two would be great as well, and if danny Murphy could be slowly intergrated into the coaching staff, then he could be a future manager when jol has had enough

Fantastic appointment for Fulham one of the games true gentlemen and a good manager to match.

I think both him and O'Neill have the ability to take Fulham to a similar level, but Jol will get you playing better football than O'Neill would have.

As someone else said it's good to see the board have acted quickly to secure their man especially with the likes of Aston Villa looking for a manager too. Jols been out of the game for a few months since leaving Ajax, so he should be refreshed and raring to go for the new season, which is good especially since you's have an early start in the Europa League.

Be interesting to see who he brings in Keane is past it you don't want him, but Jenas would be a good shout and he'll obviously know the Dutch market very well, so if he has control over transfers at Fulham (which he didn't at Spurs) he may bring in some good Dutch prospects

Great news that it's been sorted quickly this time. Although I voiced reservations about Jol in the last few weeks, I think he was possibly the best option in terms of what we can expect on the pitch. As for behind the scenes personality clashes and political manouvring, well, we'll just have to wait and see and hope for the best. It's good news though. Can't wait for June 30th, or for news of definite transfer activity.

I've just been reading on the Guardian website that after last summer's debacle, the club kept in touch with Jol. Apparently, he felt flattered by this. Obviously someone at the top level of the club has been doing careful groundwork for when we next needed to appoint a manager, and it's paid off now. Many of us (all of us, maybe) were critical of the way the club handled things this time last year. It turns out that it wasn't all badly done back then, and it looks like it's been very well done this time.

I think we have done very well out of this. Jol is going to be brilliant, definitely my first choice, even after what happened last year. COYW! Very much looking forward to the Europa League and 2011 season now. Not sure if Hughton would come on board but stranger things have happened.

Heard this at midnight that he was about to sign. Was too tired to post it here! Signed at about 2am apparently.

Anyway, absolutely delighted. His record speaks for itself doesn't it. 2 full seasons with an average Spurs side and two 5th places.

My only worry is that we have a few players who didn't play that well under Jol. Murphy, Davies and Zamora. I worry for those 3. On the bright side he has contacts and we could be making some solid signings this summer with those contacts. Cheap, experienced European players. Can't wait for June 30th! Hughton as number 2 as well?!

To clarify this: Zamora left Spurs before Jol joined them, they were not there at the same time. Jol sold Davies to Everton (then in the Champion's League) after a season where Davies was injured for the most part. Murphy was signed and sold by Jol; he is the only one that didn't play that well under Jol.

It's definately good news that Martin Jol has joined; and an absolute bonus that the deal was done and dusted so quickly. Looking forward to his welcome at the first EL home match.

    COYW - Onwards!

Great appointment. Even when he was managing the Spuds, he was a likeable guy. It's good to have him in the prem again.

Jol is bringing 2 guys with him. Cock Jol and Michael Lindgren. Lindgren is a conditioning coach (Dutch term!) and Cock is a scout. (Please no scout-Cock jokes...)

Have I got this right? Lindgren is conditioning the Dutch scout's cock or what?

Very pleased with this appointment. Feels very Fulhamish. The Captain's post makes me feel better about last year's debacle too.

I personally wouldn't be too worried about Jol's previous with Murphy, he's hardly going to miss the fact that he's important for us, and he surely wouldn't put his experience with him all those years ago over that.
