Nah I thought of him straight away, however I did not think it would be possible to get him as I thought Barnet would be interested in keeping him. Hope he gets good backroom staff, that will be very important.
Great appointment! He will add something different to previous managers i.e put a foot up people's backsides if they're not performing. With some additions to the squad, we could be in for a better season.
His ninth managerial appointment in nine years says it all really. If he does well he will be gone soon. If he does badly he will be gone soon. The chances are, with the strength of the squad he inherits, that the team will do well whoever is the manager. A light touch is all that is needed, not a quality for which he is known. Good luck to the guy. I think fans just have to back him for a reasonable period and we can remain optimistic. His popularity will be determined by home form. His success will be determined by away form.
I Have not posted anything about our who new manager could be because i could not care less if was mickey mouse or santa claus, as long as he can come in & GET US OUT OF THIS LEAGUE, i was quietly confident it was going to be steve constantine,,,,,but i am over the moon it is martin mr no nonsense allen maybe he wont get on with the upstairs crew???? but hopefully he will kick ass & make the players/boardroom sit up & take notice with his command respect approach, which i think we have been lacking,,,

Cannot see Allen at club for long but hope he does well. Great interview on Gills website, saying all the right things so hopefully promotion at the end of season.
If we do well and Allen gets us promoted, I can see him at the club for quite a while. we are a good club with a lot of potential. Why would you want to leave other than to go premier which is unlikely that Allen will get an offer like that just for getting us back to where we should be.
Fresh off a Brentford board - 'You know he'll make those chavs the nastiest, strongest, fittest side in Div 4 and wouldn't be surprised if they get promoted next year.' I resent that, we are Mad Dogs pikey army. Although I hope he has a point about the rest!
Pleased that you have finally got a manager and that the team also get to keep their training ground. Hopefully you will have success under Martin Allen.

What message board did you get that Brentford quote from ,Throwoff? I like reading other teams message boards when they're appertaining to us but I can't find any up to date Brentford boards that are regulary used.
