I was just thinking why would they want him when there are better 'fits' around? Seems they've come to the same conclusion. Nourry clearly dropped a bollock by putting him in the garden instead of waiting for the official approach. Another summer of chaos ensues...
I can't believe what is happening, sorry I'm not telling the truth. How many years has this *hit been going on for? I'm 3rd of 6 generations of QPR supporters of my family. I know some of you are still involved in the game and have much more knowledge than little old me, but how about asking Colin back for one year? He would give the players a right kick up the R's. We could go down with Colin, but I should imagine we are amongst the favourites for that.

I think we’re relegation favourites even if Cifuentes had stayed…..unless Kelman, the mysterious Vale and the wonderful new free/loan players that we will pick up really make a difference. We’ve been skating on very thin ice for years now, it’s going to give at some stage.
Too much doom and gloom on here at the moment. Cifuentes moving on is not the end of the World. A lot will happen between now and the start of next season. Let's see where are then in terms of personnel.

Question is, are we over or underachieving under Marti's management? Or just at a reasonable depth?

This season I think he persisted with a rigid system and we went nowhere really. After the last games this weekend I'm certain we will end up only 3 or 4 points off relegation

The odds list for new manager is quite interesting. Gary O’Neill, Richie Wellens (Orient) and Pierre Sage (ex Lyon) at the top, with Mason and Rob Edwards as well.
A lot of chatter about what has happened but I'm none the wiser. Our very open masters in the Boardroom have declined to tell us the precise terms of the contracts of employment. Obviously we are so big that it would cause untold commercial damage to our brand for this to be shared publicly. All that I know was that in September last year, Nourry told us that it was a multi-year contract, It didn't go into detail as to the length of the notice period. If there isn't one, it is a fixed term for the length of the contract.
In short if you dismiss before the end then the manager s entitled to be paid the balance even if he does not work. That can be catastrophic financially if you get it wrong. To take a fictional example The CEO let's call him 'Flavio' appoints a new head coach, a scouser called Wayne, on a 3 year fixed term contract. The club loses it's first two games of the season by 5-0 and 6-1 so Flav realising his mistake, puts Wayne on garden leave. In theory Wayne doesn't have to lift a finger because he will be paid for the next 3 years less the week in which his team let him down so badly. He has already earned that week's pay.
Could somebody at the club tell us what the position is? No flannel or PR bullshit. We're all grown ups
Also, garden leave has a very specific meaning in law. It means not requiring the employee to do any work (he is free to potter around in his garden) provided the employer continues to pay him for as long as he is legally obliged to do.
If there is a notice clause and it has been given that obligation lasts until the end of the notice period.
If there is no notice provision the obligation to pay lasts until the end date of the contract
Football managers do have some interesting tweaks eg the rolling 12 month notice period. that of course means that if El Cif had one of those then garden leave means 12 months.

I'm guessing that Nourry already had his pick primed and ready back in November, then we went on that great run which basically saved our season and definately kept Marti in a the hot seat for a bit longer. I'd be surprised if it's not someone totally leftfield
This is something thats got me about Marti.
Do I like him as a person? Yes
Am I disappointed/surprised about where we've ended up this season? Not really
But
Do I want to watch more of that negative football? No
Had we been playing progressive football similar to Warburton's first few seasons snd Beale's first few months I'd be angry at the situation. As it is I'm not fussed, this year he kept us in the league but I really have nothing else to say about it.
Its a shame.
Perhaps it's Nourry himself? After all he knows who to buy and sell, what tactics to employ because he plays football manager games on his laptop and he has the ear of the right medical team in Dubai available at the drop of a hat to patch them up after a hard day on the pitch or training ground.
Looks like he's happy enough...
