Marsch does one - sacked

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/63339426

Leeds manager Jesse Marsch has been sacked after less than a year in charge.

Leeds lost 1-0 at Nottingham Forest on Sunday, their seventh Premier League games without a win.

They are 17th in the table - above the relegation zone only on goal difference - and last won in the league on 5 November.

Don't understand what more they could have expected of him. He's kept them up in the premier league.

Think I saw that he got 43 points from 37 games. Not great but I'd have thought it was good enough, obviously not. Liked the guy tbph.

Maybe Leeds will wait a few more days and then bring in Klopp or Potter once they are available.

They were miles better than Forest. Their issue is teams will defend against them and won’t go toe to toe, so - as we are finding out - if you don’t have superior quality you can’t break these teams down.

They made so many poor final third passes and choices, plus one of theirs missed from 4 yards. None of that is down to Marsch. I think they’ve screwed up with this one.

We can’t complain though. It’s exactly what we used to do under Benitez and Bruce.

We’re still doing It, cos we have to at times! It’s part of the game, so maybe Marsch is in the wrong for trying to play the “right way”.
Think every team has to if they want to get anywhere. A solid defence should be the backbone of every team and should be the starting point for any new manager. It’s noticeable that that was where we first strengthened. Leeds had started to concede loads under Bielsa and Marsch did nothing to address it. He deserved the sack for that alone.

Aye, it's a fair point.

Appointing a Yank was never going to work.
Fine for mickey mouse leagues but not the PL. Signed Tyler Adams (****) and Weston McKennie (dogshit.)

Yanks and football don't mix.

Think some of their football was alright under him to be honest, it not working as absolutely nothing to do with him "being a yank."

They hired like for like, they were struggling under Bielsa and his attacking no defence style and they went for a manager who basically does the exact same thing. They did improve under him though at first and that lasted long enough for them to survive, they were utter **** under Bielsa.

Now they all want Bielsa back. <doh>

The fans loved Bielsa. I have a few mates who are Leeds fans and they all worshipped him and have each said they'd have him back in an instant. Strange.
