Following his sad death, many made the case for something to commemorate his tenure at the club.

I'm pretty sure a poll had already been done on this, but it was a fair time ago and it would now be interesting to see if anyones views have changed.

So what, if anything, do you think should be done in honour of the great man? (I know there has already been a suite dedicated in his name, but is that enough?)
 
A lot of people have been suggesting a stand name change.

Personally, I think the new training ground should be named after him. It was one of his main plans when he first arrived and I remember Cortese saying he always used to turn up to training and just explore. Wasn't their something about a tractor being left out in the rain or something and he said to get it covered up to protect it?

I think that would be a fitting tribute because for years to come clubs and people around the world will be saying 'so and so was developed at the Markus Liebherr Complex' whereas if a stand name was changed, no one talks about stands apart from the home fans. Well that's my thoughts on it anyway. :)

Agree with you mate. This would be a great gesture of the plans he had to take the club forward.
 
Training ground name, with a statue of him at the entrance welcoming people in.
 
Agree with all of the above.

If this poll continues the way its going so far, perhaps someone should email the results through to the club. I'm sure Cortese would be very welcoming of the idea
 
I think maybe a suite in the stadium or something to do with arrival into the ground. But I agree with SL Saint, being part of Markus' vision for the club, the training ground should be named in his honour.
 
I personally believe on the entrance it should have:

"The Markus Liebherr Centre Of Football Excellence"

Related to the training ground, an interesting quote from Les Reed:

"We're investing a lot of money into the facility, into the structure of the staff and everything else, whilst achieving the results, and that's to do with teamwork, good planning and good structure.

"Sometimes you hear of clubs who put all their finances in one pot and it's a bit of a boom or bust, but we're trying to build something for 20-30 years and that is going to be sustainable."

Seems as though training ground name change is well in the lead so far - I do quite like the name Staplewood though, think it has a ring to it. I think it would be a fitting tribute, but chose a statue outside the ground. Reason for that was because only people who truly mean something to the clubs history get a statue - Ted Bates for example. I think a liebherr statue out the front of St Mary's would look great.
 
The Leihberr's were unhappy with a flag being shown every match because it reminded them of their loss, so I can't see them wanting a statue. They are a very private family and I think Cortese said that Markus didn't want the ground or a stand named after him. The training ground would be a nice touch, but may again not be what the Leihberrs want. I would like it though.
