Very strange why wait until Friday. Presumably waiting for agreement with the replacement before getting rid.
He was another on that long list of useful players that Harry just didn't fancy. He won't have much of a choice at QPR though.
Long story short: They wanted Hughes to resign so they wouldn't have to pay him off. He refused, because he's not an idiot.
To be fair, Taarabt is a bit of a prick. If I was a manager, I wouldn't want him in my team. Did Harry sell El Hamdaoui though? That was a bit short-sighted I reckon.
Good point. I wasn't particularly overwhelmed at the prospect of us getting him anyway. QPR can sign him for 10 million on 100 grand a week, instead.
Just as well we beat QPR or who knows what might have happened with Adkins. Hopefully we can win at least 1 of the next 2.
If it is Harry, which it looks like it probably is, what's the consensus on his potential to get QPR out of the mire? He has money to chuck about this time so probably won't be bringing Bernard or Redknapp Jnr to QPR. I wonder if he'll take Defoe with him.
Telegraph are reporting Redknapp has been all but appointed. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...nager-Mark-Hughes-appoint-Harry-Redknapp.html
In a way, it would be quite good for us if QPR do have a short-term surge in form once the Man U game is out of the way. Their next 3 games after that are against Sunderland (A), Villa (H), and Wigan (A). If they can take some points off them it might be better for us as we try and climb the table.
So long as they don't fall too much further behind between now and Jan (and with their up coming fixtures, they really shouldn't fall further behind), then I think Harry will save them. He'll do what he did whence returned to Pompey; spend a lot of money on a lot of players, buying survival. Could have grave long term consequences - as we have seen at Pompey - but short term, I expect it to pay off. The above point about Dawson is, unfortunately for us, a very good one. I'd expect him to one of the many Jan arrivals at Loftus Road.
Thing is we can buy a player better then Dawson and on far less wages easily. Dawson isn't that good and for the money needed to buy him and the very high wages he's on he isn't worth it.
Roll on March 2nd! Although it will now almost certainly be on TV so probably get switched to the Sunday.
Do you reckon QPR will splash again in January? They are truly nuts, and Tony F quite clearly doesn't have a clue, if so. How many players can you throw at a problem? If Harry gets his way, they'll have splashed out on two whole squads in about six months. And Harry's got expensive taste...
I think at the heart of their problems, QPR are just a badly run club, and set on quick returns and no planning. A slapdash, corner-cutting Chelsea.
