That whole business is such a clusterfuck. The FA seem to have lurched from mistake to mistake over it.
I always had the feeling that there was something behind what Eni Aluko has said, it may well have been said in a joking way, but I would guess something was said.
Reads like two things John. The England Womens team sounds bizarre, he's found 'not guilty' but Eni is paid £80k to keep quiet and not upset the Euros preparation. The Bristol Academy reads like something else as well. Young male coach with young ladies football team?? The FA actually had a report about his time there but have only just chosen to read it in depth
Ye me too. Safeguarding in Bristol makes it sound bad but he probably was justnobbing one of the players. Lot of temptation for him or any bloke managing a women's team. I have to be careful around Beryl and Madge the cleaners provocatively cleaning my desk. When she bends over the desk it's like Dr Foster, the way that tabard rides up. Cooooooorrrrrrr
in his earlier interviews Sampson said the allegations were untrue BUT understandable ... he used that phrase on a number of occasions . For me i found it odd that he could use both untrue and understandable in TV interviews without being pressed further
The FA have a lot to answer for in all this. Even though they knew Sampson had had a Safeguard investigation, Bristol Academy who Sampson was with when this investigation was carried out, just put out a statement to say the FA have never been in contact with them asking about the details.
To be fair it was an investigation .doesnt mean he was guilty of anything. We all know women are such liars anyway...

Was this a case of keep going until we get him. Looks like something has finally stuck. Dont think Aluko helped her case if she excepted 80k to keep quiet during the Euros.
At every stage, the FA have reinforce the impression of the bunch of old guys in blazers sitting around at their club, who are tolerating women under duress from those pesky equal rights folk who insist it isn't the 1920s any more. Shambolic handling of staff reminiscent of that at the KCOM - no interviewing witnesses and just bunging money at Eni to make her go away. Good on her for not going quietly, and hope her England career gets back on track.
I did wonder why Aluko was not in the recent Euro thing. Now I know...Seems to me as if it won't go away so the old farts in FA land came up with some excuse about previous....and gave him the heave-o. Probably not heard the last of it, unless money has been promised to make the going that bit nicer.
Or, on the other hand, someone took offence too easily / readily and anything said had none of the connotations claimed...
