Crerand , Hansen supported Rangers when he was a kid. Alan Hansen said it in an interview many years ago.
My favourite bit on the Lawrenson column is: "I don't really understand their move for Chelsea striker Daniel Sturridge if he wants to play down the middle because what do you do with Luis Suarez? But it might work if they can convince Sturridge to play on the right or left. Someone like Newcastle striker Demba Ba would work if the deal was right and, if they got a striker like him, then a 4-2-3-1 formation would be better so Ba can roam up front on his own and Suarez can play in the middle of the three behind him." What the **** is this guy on? He can't understand signing a player who wants to play central as it would mean moving Suarez, and instead recommends signing another player... who wants to play central, and moving Suarez. That's Lawrenson in a nutshell.
I think so. I seem to be one of the few who are looking forward to it. Although a United mate of mine told me it could be as much as 15 mill. It better not be more than 12.
All of our transfer fees seem to be inflated by a couple of million in the media. The Sturridge deal is widely reported as £12m, but one or two are claiming £16m. Van Persie, for example, who cost £24m, has often been reported as £22m. It's bizarre how whenever there's an error regarding our fees it's always to increase it.
anything we get over 5m for Henderson and we have had your eyes out, he's ****e . I reckon Sturridge is a quality signing for you boys though, play him through the middle and he will get you 15-20 a season With regards to comparing yourself to Arsenal, from a neutral point of view it would be Arsenal everytime. You just don't compare with them, at the moment. I still view Arsenal as a team that will finish 3rd-5th and yourselves about 7th or 8th. Arsenal are still viewed as a champions league team, where Liverpool don't have the big club aura anymore. Sorry if offended, not a wum but an honest critique.
Theres enough pundits bum licking Liverpool and you lot moan about the one that dont.... Redknapp,Thompson,Fowler and every other ex player are so bias toward you guys It makes me cringe sometimes...Redknapp Is the biggest culprit crap pundit
I'm afraid to say that there is substance to the Reina link with Arsenal, according to my reporter mate. The guy who wrote Reina's book said sometimes things come to an end and it's time to move on. I hope he doesn't.
I've been expecting it, I think Reina's been looking a bit flat and in need of a new challenge for a while
justovertheline, most ex players are bias towards the club they used to play for, utd have them(worst offenders in my opinion), we do,Arsenal do etc etc. thought there might be more to the Reina rumour as we was linked with Butland, yes one for the future but wasn't a position we needed to worry about now, surprised Arsenal are not after him to be honest.
I don't have a problem with people criticising Liverpool as long as they can back up their statements. Lawrenson is just an idiot who wants to come across as the big man who isn't afraid to berate teams, almost like the 'Simon Cowell' of MOTD. Problem is, he doesn't back up his statements and more often then not, he will try and make jokes and fail. One e.g was when Suarez went down in the box and Lawro said it was a clear dive and there was no contact, and then moved on. If MOTD and Lawro actually showed more than one replay of the incident (as Sky did in their live feed), it was quite clear that there was contact and it was a penalty.
