UIR Bypassing your central midfield will work a lot of the time, however it won't work some of the time ie against Chelsea in the league at SB, Arsenal at the Emirates, Liverpool at Anfield, Barcelona at Wembley. The fact remains Man United will thrive against teams that back off them, but they will struggle against teams that swarm around them and bully them. Barcelona did nothing that Liverpool didn't do to them at Anfield, it was a simple philosophy on winning the second ball,imposing youself and bullying. If a half fit Steven Gerrard and Lucas were able to do it, Xavi and Iniesta and Busquets were going to be able to do it.
Ah but while we did indeed lose to the teams you mentioned we also beat all of them bar barcelona during the season. Someone said we are set up to counter which to a degree is true. We have a team that can withstand pressure and literally rip you to shreds on the counter. You run that risk everytime you try to make an attack against United ( With the exception of those spanish twats ). I can tell you us United fans love that bit about our club alot. At the same time though we are more than capable of dominating most teams. Yes our midfield is lacking, United fans are the first to point this out ( we have been asking for a new CM for years tbh ) but it has aided us in a hell of a lot of success. I mean its put many a midfield who had perhaps better players to shame. Roma, Barcelona, Arsenal, Chelsea, City, Liverpool, AC Milan and more have all been beaten by a United side with the likes of Carrick, Anderson, Gibson, O'shea and others in the midfield. You underestimate our midfield and fair enough, its not too hard to see why but it isnt the worst around, it more often than not does its job and it is the most successful midfield in English football right now. ( I know medals doesnt = quality but it sure does mean they are not bad )
John Flanagan didnt he get ripped a new one against sunderland? and hasnt kenny failed to win a game since signing his contract so far liverpool are 2 pnts down on last seasons equivelant results
