It was painful watching Burton getting thrashed at Man City last night but I must say , despite City's brilliance, Clough's tactics with his narrow diamond formation was responsible for the size of the defeat - Bostwick was left one on one with Sane repeatedly and we all knew how that was going to end. Someone mentioned that we were the side in the top four divisions who most recently got into double figures when we beat marine 11-2 in the cup in 1995. I remember that game well - they were the better side for half an hour but we hit them on the break several times in quick succession to go 4 up at half-time. Marine still continued to pile forward and the biggest cheer of the day was when they scored their first goal to make it I think 6-1. I remember their tubby goalkeeper who was absolutely dreadful all afternoon and that we missed several chances to make it even more after Spink was taken off - happy days indeed.
