History shows that labour are to blame.....its just easier to blame the current government.

In my time I have seen Major, Blair, Brown and Cameron and during the labour years money was being printed like monopoly money with no care for paying it back ever..... labour ran its course as much as could going to illegal wars and making dole dossers into some of the wealthiest people on earth aswell as making the idea of being 16 years old and having 5 kids a highly desirable lifestyle before finally the UK woke up. Hell if labour were in charge now we would be in the midst of a civil war or something equally as stupid because labour are morons who do without thinking of the consequences.

Tories come along, see the mess, realise something has to be done and know full well they will be hated for it but still do it.

Labour have a brilliant election campaign.....get into power, **** everything up and let the next guy clean it up so h looks bad and labour get voted in again.

The woman is a legend! If coal mines were such good business why did no entrepreneur take them over? why did the miners not pool their redundancy? Or is it just easy to recall part of the story and as socialists blame everybody else? Steel, shipbuilding and coal all employed massive amounts of people but at what expense? Nobody recalls the way the government had to underwrite these industries! How many have been taken over and proved profitable? If its cheaper to import coal than mine it why would you? if cheaper to import coal than mine it why should we underwrite the cost?

You're right. Why would we want a country to be profitable? Why would we want to have manufacturing, industry and self sustaining companies, instead of massive retail chains and McDonalds. Why would we want our youth to learn good trades when they can offer us burgers for 1.99? Clever Maggie, she managed to affect not only her own generation, but many generations after her...what a legend.

    This <ok>

Two sectors of business should be maintained by a country in order to see it through any tough times - Farming (****s gotta eat and if you're embargoed, you need to produce your own food) and Manufacturing (you can sell stuff you've made if you've no money to buy stuff from other people).

Sadly, if us or any other of the Western free market countries get totally isolated, we can't sustain ourselves with legions of bankers, estate agents, call centres and hotels.

You need to make **** and you need to provide your own food if all is ****ed - otherwise, you're unnaturally reliant on other countries (see Rangers transfer policy 1996 - 2011).
