I have had you flip-flopping on my line over marathon-gate for - how long? - a week, now, and still the power rests with me as to when, or indeed if, I net and land you.

That, my friend, is how a true Master wums..

A true wum master would know that if you are going to use a fishing analogy the fish doesn't flop on the line (unless it somehow gets entangled - strictly for the pedants <laugh> ) ... it is the hook that has the fish flip-flopping ... this can be attached to the line but, more often with bigger fish, might be on the end of a wire trace, which itself is then attached to the line.

I suspect I'm not alone in thinking that you would stop making youreld look a proper tarpon if you would take some time to read up on the subject before trying to make such analogies <ok>

Sounds like another bottle job brewing then.

Be it on your head if you bottle this one too.

"Bottling" is the wrong word to use.

I'm still waiting to see if I have to jet off* to Moscow, Pix.

*Actually, not jetting, but taking a train. It's a very long and slow journey with intermittent internet connection.

FFS, Bambi!

I am making a simple analogy for the purposes of easy and light banter. You, on the other hand, have gone and researched the history of angling and its various techniques in order to explain away the banter!

Think about what you are doing before you do it and then don't ****ing do it. Please! for the sake of banter on this board, Bambi.

You spend your time worrying about how you are going to eat all the humble pie that is going to be coming your way, Pix.
<laugh>

Forget a spoon - I suggest you find yourself a ladle, mate.

Quentin - please calm down <hug> ... you've just been given an object lesson in true wum mastery <rofl>... and your resultant hissy fit is evidence of its' complete and absolute success <laugh>

PS My old man was a keen fisherman and we would go carp fishing frequently during the summer ... now I just seem to catch the odd tiddler :cool:

In this life of high finance and international property deals poor old Tinys client can only afford to send him on a sleeper to Moscow. <laugh>
