Zidane was a wonderful player ... but was never able to do this kind of stuff ...

Only George Best had the same mix of speed and balance ... IMHO

Never ever saw Diego crying because he was hacked and chopped at. No protection in them days. He just sliced through them, lefted footed player, often tried to keep his opponent to the right, so would run inside, but even great technique with his right. Basically the ball was glued to him.

Excellent point Babs ... he gets brought down numerous times in the vid I posted, but just jumps back up and carries on ... his build, turning circle, pace and balance just enabled him to beat man after man ... a true phenomenon. <cheers>

He was a pit bull. Amazing to watch, just a shame about the shhite side of his life. Died same date 25th Nov as Best (aged 59), which Tel I think alluded to.

Horrific "tackle". Goikoetxea really earned his Butcher of Bilbao nickname. Bloody brilliant one to have, though! <laugh>

Lol, great video Fosse. Literally picked a video that starts with the one piece of skill that Zidane is widely attributed as being the best ever at.

You've peaked too early again Tel ... watch the whole thing ... I wasn't referring to the start in isolation ... <cheers>

I'd forgot all about the Butcher.
