Chester had a Barnsley player right with him and was running back onto it (sort of diagonally) so was only ever going to be able to play it sideways or backwards. I think Amos' plan was to come out and clear the ball upfield whilst Chester basically blocked off the attacker for him. We were "concerned" about it at the time as well as there appeared to have been no communication between the two of them, it would have been more than a little worrying if Chester had decided to play a simple back pass to Amos as it would likely have gone straight past him.

EDIT: That was also for the benefit of ISTPLT, which is why I'm agreeing about it being worrying despite seeming to disagree at the same time.

Rumours saying that Wenger is looking to buy Pepe Reina because he isn't satisfied with Mannone...

Certainly the cheaper option and loyalty is guaranteed.

Mannone is a far better keeper than Bo, even if Bo was a nice lad. Most people don't know it but Mannone had a chance to sign for us on a permanent after his first loan and told us no as he felt he would break into the Arsenal starting XI. No criticism of him, I mean, he has, but just interesting to know.

Wenger's gone down in my estimation then.. although he wasn't very far up anyways..

I mean what a fool, it's his defence which are ****, not Vito..

of all the keeper sto have played for City, he Norman and apparently Bly (on heresay) seem to be the top 3. Perhaps Myhill & McKechnie 4th/5th

So are we only willing to sign a 'world class' keeper now then?

By the way Seaman and Lehmann have retired..........................

McKechnie 5th - not a chance - flapped at everything in the air and was a liability.. Wealands Andy Oakes Roy Carroll all better than Keckers..

As for Vito it is clear Wenger doesn't rate him as a No1 - he will therefore leave IMO now he's had a good taster of the PL.. we might be in for a shout for him though..

    Maurice Swan.
Was always worried that the ball would go through his legs, even when his feet where together.

Feel sorry for Mannone today dropped for Wscesny, Wscesny is a bit of a cocky git and likely to get found out a lot of the time, the Cup final for Arsenal and Poland at the Euros spring to mind. Mannone much more solid and better character for me.

I remember that, I was in the south stand, just seems to happen in slow motion.

That was a horrible evening. Remember Bobby Tambling running rings around our defence.
Have hated Chelsea ever since that night.
