it all depends on who the ref is the high foot on Mbemba by the Huddersfield player wasn't even a foul yet it cut his head Mane should be entitled to go for the ball as it was outside the goalkeepers area how did he know the keeper was there if his eyes where totally on the ball
If the keeper's head was still on his shoulders after the challenge then it's no foul. Bunch of fannies the lot of them.
thing is , if that is red every thing shoulder high is red .. inconsistency of refs is and always will be in football on these calls
For me, a much bigger talking point and potential red is Otamendi on Mane. Fernandinho commits a foul and is booked, but the ball is gone and Otamendi absolutely clatters into him on the floor. These tackles have never ever been looked at, and they are usually the most dangerous in the game. Last ditch scythes (usually from behind) when a player has long since screwed his shot wide/had a shot saved/been tackled by someone else. It's completely wrecklesd and completely off the ball... goal kick, no card. ****ing nonsense.
Not a red in a million years. Ridiculous. Ref saw a bit of claret and made a rash call. Should be rescinded but won't be.
Just seen it. Never a red. Yellow every day of the week. Another decision showing how soft the game is getting.
