    err that is exactly the scenario i was referring to . The statement "i didn't have a clear view" are just words to justify the fact he screwed up & everyone knows it - often known as Politics.
    It becomes more difficult if a yellow has been given but even then i think it has been used in the past.

    But, if there is TV evidence showing the referee with a clear view of the hypothetical incident that would mean he was deliberately lying to cover up his inadequacies as an official.<laugh>

    Like others have said he probably wouldn't have started in the Cup game against Leicester anyway.

    Hopefully with Coutinho coming back we won't miss him as much as we would have, plus chambo is there as a back up option

    I don't think we should have appealed it anyway, tbh. It was a fair red - it's just irritating when you see a lesser punishment meted out for a similar challenge. But that's football, and refs are human and although we all want consistency I don't think we're going to get it.
