https://www.theguardian.com/football/2017/sep/11/liverpool-appeal-length-mane-ban-red-card Soz if this has been done.
Don't think it will get anywhere, but I ****ing hope the FA don't extend it - surely with the circumstance, and what happened at Swansea, it's fair enough to at least ask for clarification. Vindictive ****s though, the MUFA.
Perfectly reasonable, these cases have been all over the sports media in the last few days so it won't be a surprise to the FA to receive this appeal. Even a one game reduction would be something.......I don't think it will be successful either
#desperate City release photos of Ederson's cuts and bruises in response to try to influence the appeal
Def won't be reduced. Seems bit pointless but I guess because the Swansea one they'll throw that one in there as a 'well this wasn't red so why is ours a 3 game ban?'
Or they may just review the Swansea one, turn it red then add a game to Mane for a frivolous appeal? Sorry, that may be bullshit, I don't think they can review it once the ref has seen it and acted. As you were
Crazy rule, so a player for example does a Roy Keane on an opponent and it's seen by the officials but no action is taken, the player has a broken leg. I don't seriously believe under those circumstances that the FA wouldn't override their own rule.
ah let me explain how it works in such a case i.e. media furore at just a foul being given following a horrific tackle which broke a leg. Ref tells FA neither he nor his "assistants" had a clear view of said incident then the FA can investigate & hand out suspensions.
Not the scenario I painted though, how many times have we seen on TV that a ref has a very clear view of a serious foul yet he ignores the tackle and let's play go on only to stop play seconds later to allow treatment for the injured player. What I'm saying is that once the refs report is given to the FA there's nothing they can do under their present rule yet if there was a deliberate leg breaking tackle that was overlooked I think they would overrule their rule. They are very few and the last one I can remember was Ben Thatcher at Man City?
