On any profit! Wouldn't have been worth the effort of inserting the clause surely. Nobody envisaged the possibility of a profit on the sale of Carroll.

One transfer target(supposedly) gone, not that I ever thought it was on. Time to move on and get Jokin Ear to find us a striker in the Blue Square League.

Would have been nice to get Carroll but we don't pay that kind of money. Good luck to him, hopefully he can get himself back in the England frame.

    Total bollocks.

Andy Carroll is an England player and is technically gifted.

If you can't see that from watching him, I'd suggest that you are clueless about player ability.

Liverpool payed well over-the-odds for him in the £35m, but he is Premier League quality and has plenty to offer any team.

The fact Brendan Rogers didn't want him at Liverpool means nothing - Managers come into a club and push players out regardless.
Look how Pardew got rid of Routledge, said he "wasn't good enough to play for Noocarsull" and then spent £2-3m on Obertan <doh>

Carroll is a quality player and more to the point is a Geordie.

With more and more 'don't give a **** for the area' foreign imports arriving, Carroll could have been our talisman.

He's been lost to a second-rate club like West Ham (no offence) when we should have been breaking our backs to get him back here for £20m less than we sold him for.

    FFS.

You've got to know when to hold and know when to fold.

While I wouldn't disagree with you, we're not fairing much better.

We have a fat, vindictive rag pusher as an owner, a flash-in-the-pan Manager and a complete and utter buffoon as DOF.

West Ham are looking to progress with big signings of genuine quality and they have a new stadium on the way.

It's looking brighter for them than it is for us just now. <ok>

And what is more, we have a short term loans company as our sponsor. I would suggest that is slightly less ethical than having finance from porn barons.

I think they are over stretching themselves big time.
They are now paying CL level wages and are moving into a stadium too big for them.
Look at Brum and you will see the type of mess this pair leave in their wake.

    I disagree.
Wonga provide a service people can or can't choose to use. Debt companies have been around for years.
The only difference with them and a bank is the interest rate and repayment scale.
Pornography is seedy and in some cases less socially acceptable.
That's why loan companies can advertise on TV and pervy porn barons can't.
Ask a Brum fan how their club was run by the porn lads....they ain't happy at all..

I can't see the sense in West Ham spending £9m too much and paying £65k too much in wages for a player who has absolutely no feelings to the club and has been struggling for consistency and fitness. West Ham's resources are nowhere near big enough to justify that sort of spending, they are heading only one way.

This deal is way over the odds. I would of loved for us to get him back but that money is mad. I think it is a real shame how its turned out. He should be out there playing for us but because money rules all he will probbo end up never quite being settled.
