Thats the problem with Academy players esp in premier league - they need first team game time - unless the team can accomodate a raw player - few chances - hence they fall by the wayside unless make an impression IF given an opportunity. - Whatmore is an example- not really shone after the Norwich game - his energy levels are great but his raw naievity is apparent - is he going to be "released" due to lack of real 1st team opportunities although potential is huge - a connundrum indeed
Thats it really - but they need to do something in their moments on the field - we can't afford to be patient - we are not good enough ---yet? Its our rock and hard place connundrum -ummmmmmm
Hope he's a massive goal scoring success there - loan extended to end of season - Hartlepool play off position - then he'll be successful - not sure if he'll be back at Sunderalnd though - might have already had his 1st team opportunity here - sadly its cut throat esp making the premiership grade
I watched bits of the 'Pool game on sky the other night where he started and played the full 90. Didn't even stand out at that level. Looked poor to me. Full of enthusiasm and determination but he won't even make it as a Championship player, otherwise at his age now, he'd already be on loan there. He'll leave on a free and we'll not lose any sleep over him.
If he's developing late he better get a shift on, he's stalled big time and we don't owe him a living. He'll be gone in the Summer i reckon. He'll end up at Heed.
