    You didn't mention FFP.

With the resources at two clubs he has built sustainable success, and by FFP are you talking about the FFP restrictions of St Petersburg and Galatasaray?

Still can't see Eddie being removed anytime soon but...

Mancini would be a step up but I've never been sold on him personally. He's been out of day to day management for a while now and is getting on. One thing I would say is an Italian coach with some defensive nouce wouldn't go a miss!

Rather go for Nagglesman or someone a bit younger.

Think Nagelsman looks to be a bit of a one club wonder to me.

I mean we all know success isn't determined purely by the guy in the dugout, it's a huge operation internally alongside external factors you can't even necessarily control.

The only difference is I think for a club to actually win things you need a leader at the very front with charisma, character, arrogance, etc. I don't think Howe has this stuff, he's very level headed with an even temperament but that only gets you so far. Without that figurehead, the fans sort of dwindle, the support drops in its fervour and it becomes really difficult to get to the next level. So to say Mancini on his own is the difference isn't correct, the whole structure needs to support what a manager needs to do and our strucure to win anything bigger than a League Cup or qualify for Europe just isn't there.

I thiink the plan is to look at winning something about 3-5 years from now, with the next manager on from Howe. The DoF, the next recruitment drive and commercial deals will see that plan take shape. I don't necessarily think we're in a position today to bring in either a) a top manager, or b) for anyone to do any better than Howe with the likes of Lascelles, Longstaff, Burn and a medical staff from the Victorian era. Ultimately he can still get 7th, which disappointing though it is, is probably enough. Another period of woeful squad management, poor transfer decisions and one dimensional football will certainly see him moved on but then we'll be in a position to actually kick on to the next level.

He's going to jump to the England job or be pushed.... the Saudis want to move forward.

Potentially this is the perfect storm. Southgate to Man U, Howe to England, then some next level in for us, preferably Amorim who does have something about him.

I dunno, I'm starting to realise that about 2 managers on this earth are good enough for some of us <laugh>

Howe and some foreign fancy of some sort.

    That's about it.

Newcastle fans are so Delusional ! Saying no to Jose and Mancini when they currently have a sacked Bournemouth manager and haven't won anything since the 50's is madness.

Either they're over estimating Howe or they're massively over estimating Newcastle's place in the footballing food chain at this point in the build.

Not delusional at all. I just think for where we are EH is the better option.

And as I’ve already highlighted, Mancini hasn’t done much since ffp came in to being.

As for Jose, I’d be happy with him if EH left the club but at the moment there is no reason to rid ourselves of him

That's fair enough, but when Howe's replaced surely Mancini is a considerable upgrade ?

He’s an upgrade on paper but would I say considerable - I’m not so sure

    Yet.

That’s not the point. I don’t believe Mancini would with us without considerable financial backing. And to a certain extent I don’t think Jose would. Not saying EH will win any but he’s proven he can get us to a final and in to the champions league with championship players.

Didn't Mancini just win the Euros with an Italian side many previously considered quite poor?
