Agreed, swansman, our lads will get better with more games against good opposition. That will take time, however. What bugs me is where I continually read about the other team being stronger and muscling our players off the ball. Getting stronger is far more easily done - you can muscle up significantly in a season. I've said before that if you are small in stature eg; Leon and Joe, you have to be a special player to succeed at the top level. If I was built like them with their measure of ability (respectable but NOT special), I would see to it that I was built like a pocket battleship by doing whatever was necessary in training. Can't be bothered? Fine but expect to lose far more physical challenges than you are going to win.
Any of you who have watched our reserves over the years, should not be surprised by this result, even Llanelli can give us a pasting, let alone the likes of Manu! surprised it was not double figures!................ please log in to view this image
Dragon, we didn't look too bad at all against Bolton. Shaun Mac played centre back and looked comfortable We tried to play the same sort of game as the first team and we never looked in any trouble during the match. Weren't we missing up to five of the reserve squad against Man Utd?
Ivor not sure, but the point is this, we need to give greater importance to our reserve team and setup, a higher profile and status would see better dividends to the first team, and Colin Pascoe needs assistance and help in my view!................. please log in to view this image
