Even pre Ban english club's were financially not strong as the serie A clubs. The Milan side of late 80's and early 90's + Juve side of the late 70's to late 80's were far better sides than any english club side, ever.
Liverpool side of 80's were average. United never really had a great side that did well in Europe. Nott's forest were a team of nobody's bit like Porto and Liverpool 05, A.villa were a one off.
You do know that from 1977 English teams won the next 6 European Cups. No other country has had a run like that with 3 different teams especially.

Because, if you are claiming that Juve were the best team in the competition that year then I will say we knocked them out nicely in the semi final and went on to win it so we can't have been half bad.
Let's be honest Liverpool in European football are on another level compared to Juventus. I know you must have some sort of boy fixation on Juventus but to be honest they have never really done it on the European stage consistantly.
