He solves one of our biggest problems. Opening teams up and getting im behind. Its not like we concede that many. I think liverpool and spurs have worse defences than us. Liverpool especially. Relegation level defence. Yesterday showed exactly why we need di maria. He's as important as a cm.
Your central midfield sucks bad, and if you have a s**t central midfield, especially in this league, you will suffer, irrespective of having Di Maria out wide. Your defence also hardly strikes fear into any opposing player, I doubt opposing players stay up all night fearful of having to go up against the mighty Chris Smalling and Jones, or Evans when he's fit.
We might be able to pick him up for a cut price next season, when he realises that no champions league football isn't any fun.
Also, how will Di Maria fit into their system? In a 352, he can't really play as a CM because they have to offer a lot of cover defensively. Are they gonna use him as a wing back? He has the energy but perhaps not the mentality. Or will they use him as an AM and drop Mata? Its not a signing that makes a lot of sense.
Getting knocked out of the second round of the CC 4-0 to MK Dons, it was never this bad for Arsenal....I remember that nightmare at Bradford (was there), lol but even that can't compare to this. At this point it's not just a question of how **** these players are, but are they even trying? Do they want to be there? Do they believe in the cause? Have the ambition? And I think it's a case of no, and this is even more bad for United, it's one thing to be **** which they are, but to also have players not fully committed to the cause is even worse. Oh well.
what I think will be funny is if United fail to qualify for champions league next season as well. Di Maria won't want to stick around for that, and I can't imagine Mata, van Persie or Rooney will either. Even younger players will promise like Jones and Smalling will start to question their career at United then.
anyone remember when Unitedinred was called UIR - Kagawa Powa . feck me , theres another player that was gonna give them the world on a stick . Last night he was f**ing cr@p . Oh yeah , they played their " reserves " , i remember now. Wellbeck .....ages in the reserves Januzai .......ages in the reserves DeGea ........well known reserve GK Evans.........yeah , reserves Kagawa........who dat ?.......never heard of him Hernandez.....oh yeah definite reserve player , never heard of him . Anderson ......who ? maybe if they actually put out the actual reserves they might not have got ass fisted.
I see Utd have all 3 promotion teams in a row now... Van Gaal couldn't have had an easier start on paper
That was a really poor performance from them - their defenders (including wingbacks) seemed to have a fit anytime they had to play the ball. Loved how the BT commentators were trying to make it sound like Man U should have won, got two pens and that burnley should be grateful for getting a point.
