I support Wistam so I know my opinion counts for very little. However, I know that everyone is entitled to their say but it confounds me that there are so many people questioning SAF's team choice. He has a proven greater understanding of football than anyone in this forum. He didn't put out a side that he hoped would be beaten 1-0. He tried to win the game. I really don't like the fact that City will have bought the league if they win. The billionaire backing of Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan is unrivalled. I know Blackburn spent a packet in 94/95 and that the top four teams nowadays have an unfair advantage but United and Arsenal have done it through/after success, the popularity gained thereafter and wise investment. Chelsea had a slight pedigree but were then helped by that fatuous oligarch and a great manager in Mourinho. But Citteh seem to have been created with cash. I think it's particularly telling that they wanted to buy Kaka and he said that there was more to life than money (even though he seems to have iffy morals these days). Then when they got Robinho he mistook them for Chelsea at his first press conference. God, four pints and I'm rambling like I've had eight. Okay, to sum it all up... I like the way United go about things. Ronaldo did and now Young does go down a bit too easy but Fergie at least tries to sort them out (remember Stuart Pearce at City when he dealt with Corradi's diving - classy). SAF respects the old guard in Giggs and Scholes because they deserve respect and he also seems to like a backbone (or at least a cross-section) of British players to keep his team lean and mean. For me, Mancini is a billionaire's posterboy and all the money they throw at players to join them will ultimately be their downfall; as cash will only ever interest the egotists and the vain. Balotelli is a gifted moron and Tevez is a fabulous idiot. I love watching City play because of Silva and Kompany et al who actually seem to have some nouse and balls. But if they win the league I feel it will be tainted by the fact that they have bought it and not earned it.
I rate all the Manchester players today when the manager argument was going on, theyw ere decent, if that was barca vs real Madrid, you'll see players involved which causes a big fight
Fergie is the greatest manager of all time, but that doesn't make him infallible. Otherwise good post Ruining. Nice to hear an opinion without unclouded by the staunch united hatred of so many others.
This. I like Park, but you know he will get subbed when things inevitably start going wrong. Offered naff today, but he wasnt the only one. ****s
