Going against the league leaders on Sunday with kickoff at 4:30pm. A lot has changed since these two sides met in April. We have a new a manager and 5 new outfield players that are all likely to start tomorrow. Arsenal team has also gone through meaningful additions that have propelled them to the top of the league after 5 matches. But if most of our new players start tomorrow along with the defensive line-up of Dalot, Martinez and Varane and Malacia, we should be have a good shout at winning the match. Season so far We have only scored 5 goals from 5 matches. Only 4 teams have scored few goals than us - Wolves (4), Nothingham Forrest (4), Everton (4) and West Ham (3). But considering we let in 6 goals in the first two matches, we have conceded only 1 in the last 3 games. Clearly, the defensive partnership of Martinez and Varane is starting to show signs of stability. Will this continue against an Arsenal frontline that has accumulated 13 goals in 5 games? While we controlled the last two away matches again Southampton and Leicester, we need more production upfront and a striker that can put them away. This gives Ronaldo a chance to start tomorrow as our only out and out striker. Will he get the chance against a team that he has scored 9 goals against, with 3 of those from last season? Material key point is that Antony will most likely start tomorrow in place of Rashford depending on his match fitness. I hope he does! We need more production up front. If there was a team over the years we’ve unashamedly used the counter against it’s Arsenal. Ferguson used it every time during his career. We played that way at home and at Highbury and at the Emirates. We have to take on board they’ve scored quite a few with a passing game honed City style. A system similar to the RS match should be the order of the day. The positive result is all.
Where'd you copy and paste that from? You should tell them, it's fewer, not less. Anyway, I'd agree with that as a starting line up personally but doubt Antony actually will. Be nice if he does, but I think he'll be sub. For Rashford, a more likely starter being given another chance.
This will be a another great tactical test for ETH. If we can get good wins against the top teams this early in the season, it will give us a massive boast down the line. Especially playing at home. Also, it appears that ETH is not just all about possession based football. He is actually more adaptive which explains why Ajax have done relatively well in Champions League over the years. More of an outcome-driven coach than a philosophy zealot like LvG. WOOW Chief! You are one wholesome b!t**! haha I will correct the grammatical error just for you given you actually read it long enough to spot an error. And no! This is not some copy and paste job. Self written gossip-grade journalist as you like them! I would like to see Antony get a good shout but the Arsenal game may be too soon to thrust him in. I'd like Martial ahead of Rashy.
So would I, but depends on his fitness, eh? Didn't feature last game and was only a couple of days ago so I'd just guessed he was still 'injured'. Would love Antony to start, I just doubt he will. Got an awful feeling Casemiro might not as well, but he definitely should.
I can see ETH going for McTominay again for that experience of playing against Arsenal. But I don't think that should be the case. If Casemiro doesn't start, not sure if I would go for Fred over McTominay though based on his development in the last few games. I guess at this point, the only guaranteed starters for tomorrow are: De Gea Dalot, Martinez, Varane Bruno, Sancho The rest will be determined tomorrow.
EtH has said Martial is still injured so no chance of starting. Anthony was due to train fully today and an assessment made on his chance for tomorrow.
I had Shaw at the back of my mind there. But with Malacia starting the last three matches, my thinking is most likely flawed to think Shaw will get a starting place. I hope not!
Chief and I've done 3 match winning threads between us. This thread smells fishy. Just hope we don't all pile into Cytrax if things go Pete Tong today. Just saying.
Arsenal almost at full strength. I knew all the speculation about odegard and their city left back being injured etc were just mind games. Lo and behold they are all fit and playing.
Why do we have to endure that utter **** knuckle Merson as 'pundit'? How is that thick **** in employment?
