I agree. We need someone fearless to come on. Give the kid a chance. Everyone at the moment is not offering anything attacking wise. We simply aren't threatening United's goal. At this rate, we might as well go for it. I'll be very pissed off if we at least didn't try.
Well that was a load of ****. Giroud was really poor . Needs to get his act together and hold the bloody ball up.
We had a game plan to be more conservative and we seemed to be dealing with them fine until they scored. We need to get into the game more, fight for the ball! I want to see Ramsey playing in the middle, take one of Arteta or Flamini off and put on Wilshere or Gnabry to play on the right. Wish we had Rosicky on the bench.. Still 45 minutes to play and they could get another and finish off the tie or we could equalise and open it right back up. I think if we are still 1-0 down at 60 minutes we will see a change in tactics and more players getting forward.
On the bright side we could have done much worse after going 1 down in minute 27. The full-on panic hasn't set in like usual against ManU. There is still hope for the 2nd half.
Credit where it's due, Utd have played their socks off to keep us at bay, hunt us down and prevent us from getting our passing game going, so that's what we need to be quicker at in the second half. Also as mentioned Giroud needs to start bringing other players into the game.
If Giroud had 50 per cent of Van Judas workrate we would at least have a chance . Watch him the next time he fails to hold it up , he wont even run a yard after it .
I think Utd are working very hardat the moment and space will open up as the game goes on, we just need to make sure we exploit it.
Also another game in which we have lacked pace going forward. Walcott and Podolski can't come back soon enough.
I don't think he was subbed, but he went down the tunnel early as it was almost HT. Let's hope we don't see him in the second half, because Utd will be significantly weaker at CB if they have to move Evra there and bring Buttner on. Giroud could profit from that if it happens
