I'm surprisingly confident as we get closer to kick off. Arsene knows this game will be the ultimate catalyst for our season. Win this and our confidence will be sky high. And although unlikely, we will carry some good momentum into the Monaco game and possibly overturn our 3-1 deficit. Really no excuse if we can't beat them tonight.
I wish I was as confident. We should be beating them, but we've made such hard work of playing Utd recently, even when they've been there for the taking. I agree though that it would be massive if we win tonight and would set us up perfectly to go to Monaco and get a result there too.
I keep going from completely confident we will get a result to certain we are going to mess it up every ten minutes or so! It's a game we can win, utd don't look good at the moment and van persie who has been our undoing against them more than once in recent times isn't fit. We are also playing better than them. The problem is they are very lucky and away to Utd is a game we so frequently mess up, even when it looks like we should win!
http://www.not606.com/threads/man-u...-would-get-in-2005-teams.294198/#post-7695167 My best of the 2005 teams Also pick a mixed starting 11 which will probably cause more debate. ---------------De Gea----------------- Silvestre-Rio-----Koscielny-Cole ------------Viera--Keane------------ ----------------Scholes--------------- Sanchez--------------------Ronaldo ----------------Bergkamp-------------
I feel confident and why not? We have a fine squad of players with two world class players and manure are the worst they've been in ages. Also there is no AF in charge so there shouldn't be any psychological advantage. Our team has to stand up and be counted sooner or later and there is no better opportunity than now. Beat them now and get that monkey off our backs!
We do have a great chance but as you say Utd are very lucky and even if we get a blatant penalty will it be given ? Also if they are losing right at the death lots of time will be added on !
We were far far worse 12 months ago (still didnt lose to you guys mind). You had a fantastic chance last seasom and failed. Thats not to say you won't win tonight but it wont be easy. Out home record is great and weve been scoring goals for fun at home.
I can't see loads of goals tonight. It will be a close and tight affair. We've been going counter recently away from home and your gaffer will be careful too.
I think they'll go hoofball to Fellani tonight. Our CBs don't like chasing back towards our own goal and Gibbs and Bellerin can deal with their wide men.

United team: De Gea, Valencia, Smalling, Rojo, Shaw, Blind, Herrera, Di Maria, Fellaini, Young, Rooney.
Such nostalgia looking at that team from 10 years ago - what icons in that team - Viera, Fab, Pires, Bergkamp and Henry wasn't even there! Such a privilege to see them play! COYG lets write another great chapter in our history, starting now!
Szczesny, Bellerin, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Monreal, Coquelin, Cazorla, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Ozil, Alexis, Welbeck
Nice to see Oxo in the team, but I feel a mistake to play Welbeck upfront instead of Giroud, or a front 3 of Alexis, Walcott and Oxo. Everything else as expected
Subs: Martinez, Gibbs, Chambers, Ramsey, Giroud, Walcott, Akpom Interesting that Akpom is on the bench
If Rosicky is not on the bench, then I think it's most likely because he has a knock, if not, then doesn't make sense.
