McTominay is a raw talent with real potential. He's just not being developed.

Put him with Pep and his coaching team and they'd turn him into a cracking box to box midfielder.

It's one of the real tragedies in all this. Good and great players are being wasted and none are getting any younger.

I agree he probably doesn't know what he's supposed to be doing but it wasn't a good look.

I actually think he might be better off trying to be a centre half.

He definitely will not make a top level box to box CM. No chance.

 

Would you go for Declan Rice or Phillps? The likelihood of either coming to OT is small. I don’t think the Glazers will fork out £80-100m for a cm. Yet atm it looks a glaring weakness in our set up. Every team we played so far (in both PL and CL) have put us under pressure. Even Newcastle.

 

Either would be great, I really doubt Phillips would come though. He's a die hard Leeds fan and won't come to United.

I actually think Phillips shades it, by the way. Has a bit more presence about him.

 

From what I've seen, Yves Bissouma is better then both of them.

 

He would fit as a tough no nonsense CM. But at the rate the GGs are taking money from the club, we probably could not afford to get one quarter of him
