Thanks for the sound advice. I checked in with SWT and they told me direct services from London to Southampton will operate on the hour and at 35 minutes past the hour but that there'll be no further services. With that in mind I’ve got a ticket for the 09:35 and should hopefully be in Southampton shortly before 11.
Case in point. Got chatting to a group of Thais in a bar last night about football. They all knew Southampton, and I was expecting them to all be Leicester fans. Two of them were, another was Chelsea, and the fourth one - Man Utd. She then leaned over to me and said; "You like McFly?" - I was totally thrown by it. "McFly? What, the band?", "No, no, McFly. You like McFly?" This exchange went on back and forth for a minute or so, until she started Googling on her phone. A twenty second pause. Then she shows me a photo of Harry Maguire. "McFly!!" "Oh, right. Yeah. Harry McFly. Love him." The Thai accent is f*cking brutal sometimes.
I remember in his interview he cracked me up when asked about the goal from 1 yard out, he said “well, I am lethal from there”
On my way to the match.........being picked up in 5 minutes........come on you Saints.......let's be having ya.........!!
No problems getting out of London and down to Southampton for me personally, thankfully. All seemed pretty smooth. I would assume some people have been out of and decided either to not travel or to find alternatives for the stops on that route.
