It was highly, highly unlikely we'd get anything from this and that should have been in our think. Hopefully it will have got the international break cobwebs blown away.
West Brom will have to win next week or they will virtually have 1 foot in The Championship. Pardew will fire them up - we need to keep cool heads, frustrate them and then hopefully make a chance or two - and make at least one count! Victory will set us up nicely - a draw is the absolute minimum that we must achieve. Defeat would give Stoke and Soton in particular the belief that we are catchable.
It's going to be a tight run in for sure, there's not much between any of the bottom 8 teams, we need to get Jordan Ayew back to his great form from the start.
Southampton are in big trouble . They still have Chelsea, Arsenal and on the last day - Man City. Can't see them getting enough. Next weekend is massive : Bournemouth v Crystal Palace Brighton v Huddersfield West Brom v Swansea Stoke v Tottenham Arsenal v Southampton Even a defeat for us is not disaster as you'd expect both Stoke and Southampton to get nothing
Could have been a lot worse which looked on the cards after the first half.....Next game is our cup final a game we must win or we could end up in the last chance saloon relying on other games to determine our fate.....We must beat WBA....
I disagree Dai. It would be very beneficial to beat WBA, but I can't see any of the two other teams in the bottom 3 gaining on us next week anyway.
A win next week and other results go our way could be enough. Must beat WBA next week. Our biggest game since the play off final.
If we could win next week, we could be 6 clear of Southampton and 7 clear of Stoke. A potentially hugely pivotal match.....
Yes a must win match to give us a little bit of breathing space but if we dont improve the way we are playing right now then we could be in trouble, Looking at WBA and Stoke two teams we have to play then i cant see how they are worst than us, We are certainly not playing better than them at the moment that's for sure and that is worrying. The 2nd half against Man U was better but let's not kid ourselves we were still 2nd best.......We are very capable of winning games and to give us a better chance we have to get into the mind set that saw the players trying to impress the new manager, We look to have lost that cutting edge and we need it back....
So you think we are a one man team dragon..? If we are that then there is no hope for us is there....I dont believe that at all and we have others that are capable of scoring like we have seen in Carlos's early games....
