Who would you like to see instead of Carroll, ? isn't it better to use someone who can play at this level and ease our own in .aka Fulton and King who have been on the bench .Carroll came in as cover due to Shelveys' ban ,& Leons injury and has in the main too good to drop .

pathetic response. Sigs was needed as we did not have anyone then , Carroll is not as we have good enough players. All we are doing is being spurs sub side letting their players play first team football at the expense of our own players....Now if there is an option to buy then that's a different story. We are no lackey's for anyone today or we shouldn't be....

BTW - Citeh did a tidy job on Munich the other night. Aguero is something else, but we managed to keep him off the score sheet - kudos to our guys.

I don't think that Joe Allen or Tom Carroll are the type of defensive midfielder we are going to need in the not too distant future. As for whether we should be playing Carroll it may well be part of the loan agreement with Spurs that we give him some game time. As regards Barrow I think using him as a sub at the moment is correct as we need to build his confidence. Starting him and then subbing him because he isn't yet up to it will have a detrimental effect.

I would hope that we wouldn't barter away any guarantee of game time for Carroll. If Carroll plays it should be because he is the best player for the role for that match. We are paying his wages so to not play him in favor of a weaker player who is "ours" is nonsense. Carroll is registered to play for us in the Prem and we are paying his wages - he is "ours" for the term of the loan. In practical terms, a loan agreement is no different than a regular contract - the term is shorter, but we still pay his wages and probably his insurance and he plays is heart out for us. The only unusual constraint is that he cannot play against Spurs. At the end of the loan, the player disappears as he would at the end of a regular contract.

dont agree. we have players who should come first, all we are doing is benefiting spurs giving one of their players game time...we are a premiership side now and not lower league and should act like it.....If we never had anyone else then that is fair enough but we do and while we play him our players are not getting the experience they need....can you see man utd ,chelsea or any other club doing such a thing..

It is important that we put out the best team to get results and now he is getting back to fitness the midfield should be Ki, Leon and Sygi. Until we are safe point wise I would always play Carroll in front of any of our development squads. When we are safe then would be the time to give the youngsters game time. Carroll and Jonjo should be on the bench with Jonjo being used if we need an attacking option, Carroll being used if we need to close the game off.
