Exactly right, we can't expect a CB to play at RB against top class opposition especially when he hasn't got cover in front of him. If we had played JWP at RM he would have provided far better cover than Mane but that is masking our lack of squad in a few positions
So weird everyone saying "it's RK's fault - we should have played x team. Why did Romeu start" etc etc. But that's all with hindsight. You can absolutely see why he wanted to stiffen up the midfield for this one. As it happens the players didn't respond. If he'd started with Tadic etc and we'd been 3 down after 20 minutes, everyone would have said "it's all RK's fault - we should have had Romeu in for this one as City have such a potent attack"... You can't win!
I am not trying to 'do' anything. I am just fed up with the same whinging every time Ron plays Maya RB. It is what it is. Today with no Cedric on the bench, it seems he had no choice, so why do we continue whinging about it. Funny though because you would have played him too. Tintin, who has been the biggest critic of Maya at RB of everyone, said "ok" because he knew too that with Cedric out, as it is the only option. The window ended on September 1st, so that is what we have unless we decide to buy one in January. Clearly Martina didn't work out as Ron has hoped.
I know, I agree with most of this but I'm allowed to be frustrated when I have to watch our right back constantly give it away and be out of position!
Not a bad game that actually. Awful first twenty but a good contest after that. Right, over to Sky Sports and I'm hoping for a Vardy goal.
Well that was ****. What's worse is that paddy power completely ****ed me out of a bet too!!!!!! Great Saturday.
Yeah. We were good second half, tadic was fantastic. Hope I don't see us play like that first twenty minutes for another twenty years!
Amazing finish at Dean Court! By the way, is Chelsea selling De Bruyne up there with United selling Pogba?
Yoshida was completely at fault for that goal, so not excusing him. At the same time, I don't see the use of harping on it. The entire time team looked like poop and it was inevitable that City would score. If you want to blame Koeman for something, blame him for not having the team prepared to play. They looked extremely jittery from the start. The Yoshida thing is really rather minor. It Jusy happened that they scored off Yoshida's mistake, instead of off any one of half a dozen we made that could also have resulted in goals.
Yet again left with the distinct feeling we could of done a bit better like a few other games. Not unduly worried though.
Of course you are. We all know he isn't a RB so despite the frustrations I feel too, I'm not going to batter him, moan about Ron picking him, or moan that we should have signed a better one each time he has to play there. I'm going to get behind him and keep my fingers crossed. it is what it is.
Final summation - disappointing but played much better in the second half and hopefully the injuries aren't too bad ahead of a big week!
That would be an interesting poll ... what would be worse, being a Villa fan or a Newcastle fan? ok, it wouldn't be that interesting a poll
