Haarlands was just a straight forward foul, anyone else anywhere else on the pitch and a free kick and then a yellow for Haarland throwing a big girls hissy fit, apologies to females but that was the expression in my younger days Man City are a team of perfectly controlled robots programmed by a perfect algorithm
I enjoyed last nights game. Playing against the best reserve team in the world we gave 100%, never gave up, kept to the game plan, defended with great effect and even gave city a nervous last 10 minutes. We kept a clean sheet 2nd half! Porteous did a great job dealing with Grealish and Bond made some fantastic saves. I don't think think there was a yellow card and the game was played with great sportsmanship. I was proud of our team
No yellow cards but there should have been one - the young defender for diving, just before Baah's disallowed goal.
I was thinking of right at the end of the game when Sema was harrying him and over he went just outside of their penalty area. Sema was rightly livid!
After complaints about the "dark arts" from Arsenal, it was a bit rich to see Man City players flopping to the floor to hang on against us! I do generally dislike how easily defenders can buy fouls, if it was the opposite way around and the attacker goes down, he's never getting a free kick.
A good time to reiterate the absolute contempt that I hold Arteta in, the throw in at the Vic was bad enough but the Villa selection debacle sticks in my craw: he fielded a weakened team against Villa and lost; then claims "you have to respect the competition" when fielding a full strength side against Watford. Of course "respecting the competition" would be fielding more or less the same team as that which lost to Villa. Absolute cheating scumbag in my book. Sorry, but I will never let these go!!! And don't start me on Tyrone Mings somehow still being on the pitch to score against us in our match at VP as well.
You can add to that Grealish's blatant dive that got Mariappa sent off and more or less brought about our relegation. I'm glad someoneelse remembers Arteta'a hypocrisy over the throw-in.
Although tbf we actually won that game 3-0. I remember he should have been sent off in the game at Villa Park and then scored a last minute winner . EDIT : Sorry Fez has already said that !
When did you get inside my head fez My exact thoughts every day since our relegation that year Not to forget The handball goal by Newcastle The deliberate handball by Murray in the Brighton Penalty area from our free kick The hand ball goal at Spurs The hand ball from a corner that led to an Everton goal at the Vic And the Southampton goal where their player mis controlled the ball on the touchline, patted in back inside the line WITH HIS HAND and squared the ball for Ings to score, VAR spent five minutes proving he was onside while the Watford players were were complaining about the hand ball If just ONE VAR decision like those had gone our way then we would have stayed up and Villa would have gone down
Yes we fecking do I left out the game at Everton where we should have had a STONEWALL penalty when the handball defender at home took out Delafoue in the game at Goodison Also that year to be fair we shot ourselves in the foot three times, Hughes missed the sitter at home against Wet Spam that would have put us 2 - 1 up, Mariapa scored the own goal of the decade/century at Brighton when we were leading 1 - 0 and Deeney missed the penalty at home to Spurs (we should have done the double against them that year)
I've never forgiven Alan Slough for trying to strangle Barry Endean from behind in front of the Oak Road End in 1969 - a criminal act that somehow resulted in Endean getting sent off. I'm glad Plymouth stuffed his team tonight.
That's a relief friends. I thought it was only me that held grudges. I realise now it's hal f the point of supporting 'a small team' !
Oh, she knows how I feel, make no mistake. Just about every time they're on the telly. And every other time he comes on the telly team press conference! Trust me, she knows, alright!
