The offside was so close that I would have been annoyed if it was a Saints goal and disallowed.

Could we go for it and put Rodriguez inside and Lalla back outside with maybe Davis coming on to stiffen the middle.

That last 5 mins was agony, judging by 5 Live's commentary. Sounded like Danny Fox was all at sea. Changes needed, Nige.

Sky at half time say JRod should have been awarded a Pen for the Lescott tackle. That's the way the cooky is crumbling.

Probably not straight away, but I'd like to see Lambert on for Puncheon and see Guly go to the right. Hate to say it, but our best bet could be hoofball, I think Lambert could get the better of Lescott.

I've been impressed with Rodriguez despite him being played out of position. Obviously not too good defensively, but he's a striker, he's never going to be that great defensively. We do seem to look better with a higher defensive line, but seem to look really vulnerable to balls in behind.

I'm hoping you can pull one back, but i fear that citeh will hit their stride in the 2nd half.

However offside is offside and we didn't get the decision so I am annoyed! The lino was slightly in advance of the play and had a diagonal view which distorted the view, difficult for him to judge.

Much better half than I was expecting - quite impressed, thought they would tear us apart

Let's see how the second half pans out though ...

Fox is not having a good one...Rodriguez being on that side doesn't help matters, but this is kinda laying bare why -- as useful as he is with his crosses and dead-balls -- Fox is going to be a nervy option in the Prem. Gets caught out too frequently.

Meanwhile, Clyne has looked fantastic. For a midget, he doesn't get pushed around out there; some excellent tackles.

Is it too far to say he reminds me of Ashley Cole? Brilliant going forward and also impressive defending with the pace to make up for mistakes (of which he makes few). Plus he doesn't come with Coles personal baggage.
