    Another one bites the dust.....

Darren Moore: Sheffield Wednesday boss leaves by mutual consent after two years - BBC Sport

As an outsider looking in, the only thing I can think is, the board while happy with getting promotion, might feel that they should have gone up automatically after being in the top 2 for most of the season. Maybe they think Moore isn't up to the task of managing in the Championship after blowing automatic promotion? It seems a harsh call though.

it was a 3 way tie for most of the last third of the season .. Plymouth had their "stutter" a little earlier than them, but after Ipswich's .. no time left to regroup! although won play off's

The fans were unhappy with him for most of last season apparently, but after the unlikely comeback against Peterborough in the Play Off Semi Final, and the final win over Barnsley, you'd have thought he'd have a chance of managing in the Championship for a few months.
It says he left by mutual consent, which is rarely the case in reality.

I'm not surprised Moore or O'Neil have been sacked.

Just a gut feeling for me but they're 'nice' and neither seem to have a spine to manage.

And yet one got promotion and the other somehow managed to keep B’Muff in the PL , decent achievement by both, in fact keeping B’Muff up was more than decent.

But still being paid I imagine, and handsomely, not bad if you can get it.

Not about just money though is it ?
Anyone managing in the PL or managing a club the size of Sheffield Wednesday isn’t going to be on minimum wage
It’s about honour and ethics which deserted football many decades ago

Those things disappeared in football a long time ago, with the introduction of so much money, it is all about money now.

Probably been a final settlement, it's like winning the lottery.
It will be interesting where they turn up should they get another comparable position.
    I don't believe they will.

Moore is clearly capable of successfully managing at L1 level. He's unlikely to get any Championship clubs wanting his services, but you never know, and in terms of the size of club, he's unlikely to ever do any better than Sheffield Wednesday,
As for Gary O'Neill, he's proved he can manage in the Prem and whilst it's unlikely a huge team will want him, he may get a decent Championship team when the axe starts to fall next season. And it undoubtedly will..........

With Watford, it could be a sacking after the first game if they lose !

If QPR struggle again I can see Gareth Ainsworth getting the boot early on.
Ditto whoever comes to Birmingham if John Eustace goes to Swansea as they frequently change their Managers, and Matt Taylor at Rotherham if they struggle from the off.
Corberan at WBA might also be a contender if they don't make a good start
    Alex Neill at Stoke ?

I think the Southampton manager is skating on thin ice over the next couple of games.
