Reminds me of our relegation season a bit:

Manager(s) inherit poor teams built by Fat Sam.
Owners are hated by the fans.
Mass protests affect performances on the pitch.

Not so sure. Think the main factor in us going down was that nothing we said would make the lazy buggers on the pitch actually do their jobs.
(As well as not replacing Milner <whistle>)

They can protest against the owners/manager however much they like as long as they don't make it a personal vendetta against him and they support the team during matches. He's well within his rights to stay on as manager if he thinks he can turn it around (which I would love for him to do).

It certainly didn't help the players.

For example Guthrie's red vs Hull. He's not usually a malicious player but I thunk the heated atmosphere got to his head.

Football is ridiculous. Its the only sport a manager can be paid millions for failing and not being good enough for the job.

I hear many people saying that they have many injuries currently - that's true but these players haven't been injured for the whole time he's been in charge.

Steve Kean has been manager of Blackburn for something like 37 games - he's won 7.

That is nowhere near good enough at any level and frankly it's beyond me why he still has his job.

I admire his resolve but he simply is not good enough at this level... actually he's never been a manager at any level before so you couldn't even say he would do better lower down the leagues.

It's generally easier to manage better quality players, as the tactical side of things is made simpler by the quality shown by the players - Steve Kean seems unable to get the quality out of his players. There is a great deal of huff & puff from the team but a horrible lack of quality.

You can't say that Blackburn don't have the quality players, they do. Pederson, Dunn, Yakubu, Samba & Hoilet are prime examples as is Paul Robinson.

The manager simply cannot seem to get them playing well - it's been seen thousands of times before when players are simply not responding to a certain manager... it gets changed.

For reason only they understand, Venkys are sticking with their man - and he is their man. They sacked Sam Allardyce to give Kean the job and it's going very, very wrong.
Nobody within their ranks seems to have the courage or know-how to change it and it's going to cost them their Premier League status.

It's never pretty to see fans reacting like the Blackburn fans have, but you must remember that the passion for their club is what makes them fork-out all the money it takes to buy season tickets, merchandise and everything else that match-day entails - so when that same passion is aroused when the team are failing miserably you can't be surprised to see the results.

It always annoys me when people slate fans for "abusing" the manager. These fans turn up and watch 90 minutes of every match, not the poorly cut 6 minutes they show on MotD that everyone else sees. They know better than any neutral whether the manager is underperforming, and as loyal followers who pay a fortune to watch the team play they're well within their rights to boo.

From what I've seen of Blackburn I think it's clear he hasn't lost the dressing room. But tactically he seems poor, the second half against Sunderland was a good example of this. He's had a year in charge now with no improvement, so I think it's justified that the fans want to see his head roll. At the same time though, the Venky's will be choosing Blackburn's next manager and if Kean does get axed I think it might be a case of be careful what you wish for for the Blackburn fans.

Another manager under pressure right now is Martin Jol. This is absurd in my opinion. He's not had long in the job and 13th in the league is no disgrace. Some of them were up in arms because they lost to Man Utd on Wednesday. Obviously it's not the result they wanted but come on, they can do that to almost anyone in the league, look at Arsenal. I saw Fulham beat Liverpool and they looked a tidy side, solidly mid table. I hope they get a result against Chelsea on boxing day because he's a good manager and doesn't deserve the flak he's getting from what I believe is a small minority of fans right now.

Jaesus if thats Berb Before redundancy what'll he be like next Christmas

No managers should be abused tbh, they do want to win games and win things, they don't intentionally fail.

Abusing managers is akin to screaming at 9 year olds at a sunday game, they're all doing their best.

Think the big problem for Jol is his promises at the start of the season in terms of exciting, attacking football. What they've actually seen is very dull football, bar some exceptions against Tottenham and QPR, with several key players reportedly being unhappy with his managing methods like Zamora who looks set to leave in the January window. Zamora isn't world class or anything, but he's surely about as good as it gets for Fulham? And with Andy Johnson not looking like signing a new contract, then where are Fulham going to get their goals from? Dempsey is a 7-15 goals a season guy, the rest can barely get over the 5 goal mark.

IMO Jol is disliked by the minority because of the fact he's only 4 points off the relegation zone even though he's had more funds compared to most teams down there and he's also got a better squad than most teams, yet he's failing miserably at getting the best out of that squad, and is actually alienating some key players.
