Is this the underdog Alonso that is a twice world champion & came 4th overall last year? Hope we're underdogs after the lesta game. 4th place would be rather nice.
I dont follow F1 much. But i know that vettel and the 2 brits are now more likely to win than alonso which does make Alonso an underdog
Hamilton finished 5th last year, 30 points behind Alonso. Webber was 1 point in front in 3rd, & Button 12 ahead in 2nd. Button was 122 behind Vettel. Think by definition they may all be underdogs compared to Vettel.
Ferrari are the 3rd best team IMO however I think Lotus will be trying all season to take that off them and Lotus' best driver has gone off both races now after being in 3rd. By far the best 2 teams are McClaren and Red Bull with early signs pointing to McClaren being a little bit better, it was a crazy race though because of weather and a lot of the 'big' drivers crashing. Alonso wouldn't have been as much an underdog last season, he was not expected to win that race whatsoever, even Mercedes are looking quicker than Ferrari in practices and qualifying
I'm beginning to suspect that you know **** all about F1, Josh. 'Lotus' best driver has gone off in both races after being in 3rd'. WTF does that mean? How can you be the best driver when you've never finished a race? And there's the small matter of his team mate Kimi Raikkonen being an former world champ too, with 16 points on the board (5th & 7th finishes). Gordon Bennet !!!
Im assuming you havn't watched F1 for a while. Kimi Raikkonen has not raced in F1 for years, there No. 1 driver if you will has come off both races from being in 3rd position (i.e. a position for him to challenge the race leader). he has looked very fast in both races (there has only been 2 races this season) but has been quite unlucky with people crashing into him. I really do think that F1 is a sport that you cannot comment on unless you have watched it. What i am saying is Lotus will be looking to beat Ferrari this year and they could as well given the fact the only person putting points on there board is there lets say worse driver. Grosjean is a very good driver and anyone interested in F1 should keep an eye on him
I wouldn't consider Kimi Raikkonen to be anyone's worse driver. Grosjean fluffed it himself, in oz he smashed into the williams, in KL he spun off. Kimi kept the car on the road.
**** me, Josh. Is this another one of your 'let's not do statistics, they don't count' things??? Grosjean has only qualified 3rd twice. He's done **** all else. He may well have the potential to be a great driver, but he's done **** all so far apart from 2 fast laps (note - no racing involved in qualifying, just a time trial). In the actual races, he's only competed for 4 laps in total. Raikkonen has come back after 2 years out to an unfavoured team and got in the points twice. By racing!! So tell me, what makes Grosjean the #1 Lotus driver? Is this simply your uninformed opinion again? And I do watch F1, have done avidly for decades.
Well, if you watch F1 thats fine and in fairness I watched it ever now and then for about 6 years and over the past 2 or 3 seasons I have watched pretty much every race. F1 is based on opinions though and I am basing this on my opinion (its not really uninformed, more premature), its a little bit of a coincidence that when he went off both times he was ahead of raikkonen, yes raikkonen did finish whereas grosjean didn't. But I'm not really trying to compare the 2 drivers (although I have been roped into it) im just trying to point out that i think they may take 3rd away from ferrari this year and ferrari need to watch out because I think they may even lose 4th to Mercedes if they don't watch themselves although that win does do them a lot of good
You're not trying to compare the drivers????? You called a ****ing rookie a #1 team driver!!!! A #1 that's never finished a race!!! And at the expense of a former world champion too!! A champion that so far has consistently put points on the board. You couldn't make it up!! Well, actually, I think you just have....
Ok, lets compare the drivers then. IMO raikkonen has raced solidly but without taking any serious risks to put himself higher up the board. Its payed off for him as he has gotten quite respectable finishes in both races so far. Grosjean however has taken risks and in both races moved up quite quickly through the positions to get into a higher position. He may have taken a risk too far in both races albeit quite unlucky in Malaysia but it is MY predicition that he will finish above his teammate come the end of the season. His risks have not payed off though so far though but I reckon they will, he is an exciting driver and definitely someone to look out for. Pair them 2 together and with a car that looks decently quick then you have a very good chance of pipping Ferrari to 3rd.
I don't specifically remember it but I'm more talking about his overall races have been somewhat without huge risks, he hasn't pushed his car to the limit to push for a podium finish or anything yet but then again it is still very early days and he has only just come back to F1 racing so we may still see him push on from here. The first 3 or 4 races can be decieving anyway sometimes I almost got to go to Melbourne for that as well, pretty gutted that i didn't go now
This Each to there own though. I wish I liked it as its on TV for hours at a time, a bit like Cricket which I also dont like
Cricket for me has always been a boring sport. Went to one of the ashes games in australia about a year ago (only because my dad told me he had bought some tickets and one was for me) such boring stuff
