I'm actually thinking that Morrison is going to make a very noticeable difference to us but not straight away. We will probably score our first "1st Half" goal against Stoke and maybe squeeze a draw but will see a difference over the coming weeks. Fingers crossed that we'll pick up form start climbing up the table.
Wales online... Cardiff City are running the rule over Steven Gerrard's number two at Scottish giants Rangers in their hunt for a new manager. Michael Beale, 40, has emerged as another candidate the Cardiff hierarchy are looking at as they seek Mick McCarthy's successor. Beale's name is a new one to enter the frame, and he will be largely unknown to many. However, he has solid pedigree and has helped develop a number of stars for the top whilst working in youth football with first Chelsea, then Liverpool. Having moved with Gerrard to become assistant boss at Ibrox, Beale is also credited with a lot of the success which has seen Rangers usurp their big rivals Celtic as the new kingpins of Scottish football. Cardiff are believed to be expressing interest, Beale fitting the bill as the younger manager Vincent Tan is looking for who brings through home-grown players and adopts a more modern tactical approach.
Well the last bit of that sentence is at odds with what Dalman very recently said about Tan. He publicly said Tan favoured the more direct style of game - nothing about "tactical approach". Who's actually running this show?
Sorry for the thread interruption, but I just can't leave Hiatt there. Play this live earlier piece through some decent speakers via bluetooth off your laptop/tablet etc...amazing.
Beth Fisher @BethFisherSport ยท 15h I spoke to a Cardiff City representative earlier this evening; please log in to view this image Had over 50 applicants - wide open no favourites. please log in to view this image The key part they want to get right is to ensure they bring the young players through in the right way. I think this will heavily influence who they go with.
More from Beth Fisher. Previous appointments have been about staying in a league or getting top 6. This appointment will be about what type of club Cardiff want to be & what type of football they want to play in the future. Genuinely I feel that this will be a change in direction. I think they know they cannot go on playing the way they have.
Whatever Steve Morison is doing, it's working.............. https://www.itfc.co.uk/news/2021/october/town-u23s-1-2-cardiff/
Couldnt agree more. Its at odds with Dalmans reference to Tan though. At what point does Tan restructure his management team? Dalman wanted away in the last year. I felt at the time that keeping him was a good thing. With hindsight.....
Why on earth is a billionaire businessman looking for anyone? The methodology is for the football consultants to source the proposed manager; the finance people to conduct a cost feasibility analysis; the business people to consider the potential candidates extant contractual position and then to present their cumulative reports to the executive directors to consider and if approved to put it to Tan for acceptance or otherwise. But this is Cardiff City FC not a standard football club
