Manager Suggestions.

Not at all, but unlikely to attract anyone with any pedigree and history. Maybe a up-and-comer will be attracted despite the notion of a club in meltdown e.g a Nathan Jones, or the guy Hirst. Nolan or Alexander wouldn't be a bad choice. Someone who would call a spade a shovel.

Everyone bar Shazz knows what you mean D_B.

Jon(athan) Walters gave a good account of what happens at lesser teams when discussing West Ham on MOTD2 earlier today.

Lesser clubs attract a poorer calibre of players for a reason. Better clubs want the best and the further down the ladder you go the more meagre the pickings get.

Same applies with managers.

Agents will sniff out the desperate clubs and hawk all manner of **** to them.

Managers currently doing a decent job:

Paul Hurst at Shrewsbury.
Paul Cook at Wigan.
Graham Alexander at Scunny.
Karl Robinson at Charlton.
Kevin Nolan at Notts County.
John Coleman at Accrington.
Nathan Jones at Luton Town.

Anyone who can bring in an upward trajectory and some defensive nouse would be a bonus.
...........
Phil Brown at Southend

But would be a no for me.

We need a Warnock type, someone who can work on a small budget and someone who can dish out a bollocking or two and someone who knows this division so what about....... mick McCarthy

We definitely should be looking for a young ambitious manager with a good current record in the lower divisions, as I can't see any manager in our division or above willing to take on this mess. All of the above are the right kind of candidates. Above all we need a manager who knows how to organize a defense as we are a shambles in mid-field and at the back under Slutsky, who I now think has to go...and soon...before we are in a real relegation battle. Lets hope we get it sorted quickly. But whoever we bring in we almost certainly will lose Bowen, Grozitski, and possibly Hernandez, in January, and therewith most of our goal-scoring potential. Time for more promotions from the U-23s??

He’ll go for nothing next summer having not played for us again! If he does come back this season which I doubt, it’ll be too late anyway!

Of course he will, he wanted out this summer but we invoked the extra year on his contract - he'll get fit with us and then walk at season end without a backward glance.
