Ok so you will have to forgive me as I've stole these stats from Matt at Gills in the Blood but some very interesting reading regarding our last four permanent managers and their stats (correct as of Swindon Town away fixture).

Home Win%:
Justin Edinburgh 49%
Steve Evans 47%
Steve Lovell 32%
Adrian Pennock 31%

Away Win%:
Steve Lovell 34%
Justin Edinburgh 31%
Steve Evans 26%
Adrian Pennock 6% - awful

Home Loss%:

JE, SL & SE 36%
AP 31%

Away Loss%:
Adrian Pennock 69%
JE & SL 43%
Steve Evans 36%

Average Points Per Game:
Justin Edinburgh 1.43 (66 points per season)
Steve Evans 1.42 (65 pps)
Steve Lovell 1.25 (58 pps)
Adrian Pennock 0.90 (40 pps)

Evans has managed 17 less games for Gills so it is possible for him to overtake Justin soon. Love him or hate him, stats show Evans is doing a decent job for us.

We've already achieved the 50 point marker, so it's certainly nice not to be looking over our shoulder. I think he made some crucial changes in January, albeit at the same time, some previous players didn't get a fair crack at it.

Justin Edinburgh's result against Sheffield United on the 8th August 2015 was just something else, absolutely outstanding. You can look back at that team we had then, you will see Championship as well as Premiership players as they have since become. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/33744300

How many of our current team will make those same levels is still to be seen. But I'm enjoying the relaxed season, even if Evans does infuriate me on the odd ocassions.

If only Oliver was finding the net so freely as he is now. If only early season injuries had not occurred to Dempsey and Makepeace O'Keefe. https://www.kentonline.co.uk/medway/sport/evans-it-was-a-naughty-challenge-233836/

At the moment it's like having a box of chocolates, and not knowing what filling you are going get until you bite in to it on the day. Coming back from a goal down at Swindon was sheer turkish delight, yet the week before all we got was one of those horrible nutty crunch.

Hopefully we can keep pushing and the lads will amaze us, as I scoff the whole box at once in absolute excitement.....I'm sure @alwaysright will pop along later to bring me back down to earth.

What we hope for...

If we had a manager with Edinburgh's home record and Lovell's away record, we'd be away and laughing. Edinburgh's football was a lot nicer on the eye but the stats above can't deny it's working (currently) under Mr Evans.

Dear brb,
I hope that your false teeth get stuck when you chomp through the toffees . Like a lot of people, my favourite is the purple one --- it's a shame that our players haven't produced many purple patches in the season ( Ipswich and Swindon definitely two such occasions. ) .......I wouldn't compare our squad with fine confectionery - more like a Jamboree bag ( some awful sweets therein ! ) ---- anyway - no more talk of chocolate - I haven't had any chocolate, cake, biscuits - and hardly any carbs since Christmas.... I'm doing about 1500 calories per day.... I've lost about 20lbs this year - my trousers are beginning to fall down at will ( I might be able to fit into my Gordon Road seat by August. ).....
as I write, I've only had 400 calories today !

edit - and I reckon I'm walking and exercising as much, if not more than a couple of our regulars ( admittedly I can't throw a football quite as far ! )

If we had Dack and Egan now we would be in play offs now.
Shame for both those lads having bad injuries now. Hope they can both get back next season
