Fair play, I disagree massively but don't mean to make it sound as if you're wrong. It's a valid opinion, just not one i share - not meaning to wum Sam did grand for you but it's fine margins, you were two points (I think, I didn't really pay much attention to the final table...) from safety and could easily have gone down. But you didn't and Sam does deserve accolades for that. Leicester didn't just win the league they won it at a canter - 10 points! For me that's the biggest football shock in my lifetime (well since 1990 when i started being aware of football) to happen in the leagues (perhaps Denmark and Greece have other claims) and if you don't win manager of the season for that then I don't know what you would need to do. I would put good money on it that SA would agree Ranieri deserved it.
Absolutely this. Nos I can't quite get my head around what you're saying? Because Leicester had a bit of form at the back-end of last season it was easy to win the league? Many teams go through the odd patches of good form. A couple season's back, I think we ended the season as one of the top form teams in the league. Are you honestly saying if Gus had gone on to win the league the following season, you wouldn't think he would have deserved manager of the year? I find that astonishing...
My head is firmly in place about football which I have been watching, playing and coaching for six decades. We can all make our analagies about circumstances but this has run its course now. As this starter of this thread i would be grateful if the Mods could close it now.
Surely Rafa must be in with a shout...He has took the Mags down, but their fans still believe they are Champions League material..
Well they brought a mew vlown to the bigtop. So for comedy value he deserves ay least some kind of award.
To be fair, considering we had all the referee's against us, the FA against us and also the media. Just keeping us in the Premier league seems a remarkable achievement....
. Aye. The whole world is against poor old SAFC. Always the victims. Well not as much as the skiprat scousers.
Are you saying this because posters don't agree with you, or because we don't think he should have won manager of the year? I'm not sure of anybody who isn't giving SA the credit he deserves (Maybe Comm ), I'm over the moon with him and I'm hoping for a several few years with him in charge...
Genuinely shocked there's people out there who don't think Ranieri deserves it. He won the league... With Leicester.
It's probably the greatest ever sporting upset of all time, people mustn't grasp the magnitude of what's happened.
I don't think he should have had manager of the year either like, even if Ranieri didn't win it there's Pochettino and arguably Howe and Flores both ahead of Allardyce, maybe more. I just think that in the same way that Nostalgic thinks Ranieri didn't do anything outstanding there's a few on here that think Sam didn't do anything special, possibly because we didn't have a higher finish in the table.
