Am I missing something. Surely Helgusson has already been dropped?

Hegusson win more headers than Rudy - dont agree with that. Id say Rudy wins more - comfortably more - though Helgusson is the better player.

Id bring in Mason for Kim and play Bellamy wide.

What is fantastic, having read all those comments on possible selection, is not one of us really has a clue what our best 11 is and that's because there are so many quality players on the bench.
I think to write HH off for this season is harsh. He needs the supply from wide areas, if the ball gets put into dangerous areas he will still attack it (in the air!) as well as anyone in this division.
I did think about Mason playing up front but I really think Bristol will sit deep to counter Bellers, his movement in the channels could still be effective but I see it that if we can dominate possession we can get it wide and get the ball into the box for HH and Gunnar arriving late.

As long as we play the right sort of game (not lumping it) on a decent pitch, neither Rudy nor Helguson should figure in the starting 11. At best they're a bench option.

Rudy has never given me the impression of a fit professional footballer. His height enables him to win some lofted balls but not as many as he should. On the floor he can use his feet, but has no pace off the mark and lacks a striker's killer instinct.

Helguson is a spent force. He's slow and needs to goal hang to get on the end of attacks rather than get there when they develop. In the air he'll battle with the best of them and shows no lack of commitment, but he would be better off with three heads instead of the one he's got and a pair of feet. He's failed to take so many chances that Mason would have buried if they'd fallen to him.

Go for pace. We've got it now, so let's use it rather than the "old" way - we had no choice before but we have now.

    I agree.

To do that our midfield needs to pass and move quicker.

Our defence and Turner in particular do it long balls. But thats often due to our midfield not being able to get on the ball and pass it.

Id bring in Mason and play 4 4 1 1.

Rudy would struggle in a L1 team. He's rubbish and possesses almost nothing a pro footballer requires. I really don't know why he was given another season. If he can get his head onto a couple more balls than HH, maybe, he's much taller than him. But HH has forgotten more about being a striker than Rudy will ever know.
