The problem with de Gea seems to be a weakness of character.

Even when he bulks up and gets the experience, he'll still be **** on crosses.

Some people are going into the the New Year homeless and you're angry that United do not win every single game of theirs (which most of the time are 3,4,5-0 wins)?

Ajax fan in peace. 17,5 million for De Gea? You could have had Vorm for 1,5 million. Or Stekelenburg for 8 million.

And so what? Didn't see Arsenal trying to buy any of them. De Gea will come good. Besides the Danish lad is good enough to take over.

This <ok> he's only 20. Obviously now Fergie has a serious decision to make regarding our number 1 keeper. Clearly he should just play Lindegaard, but he needs to be careful about completely shattering De Gea's confidence.

IMO we should have stuck to the same line up that played Wigan with Jones coming in for Evans. Starting XI was a bad call on Fergie IMO.

But I'm just going to assuming that Fergie is a generous man and gave Steve Kean three points to help save his job. <whistle>

But that's it, i don't believe that this result has anything to do with Rooney, more so the extensive injury list that has built up. It was inevitable that it would catch up at some point but it was disappointing to drop points against Blackburn.

I still don't believe, given the competitions that we are still left in, that there is any dramatic need for purchases in the Jan but then it depends on the length of time to get some of the first team back.

Credit to Blackburn for getting the result and there are no real excuses for the poor performance in the first half given the turn around in the second

Blackburn fan here, got to say that I didnt expect to get anything from todays game so I'm very happy.

I really do hope that this helps the team and we can lift ourselves out of the trouble we are in.

The thing with De Gea I think is that he is not a player who commands his area, he does not have that sort of presence about him and so he does not project confidence to his team-mates by saying 'it's my ball, get out of the way', added to which opposing forwards know they can bully and pressurise him in a crowded penalty area. The strange part is that one of his better games this season was at Stoke and he handled a lot of the high balls in that match, but after a couple of gaffes in the Champions League, he seems to have gone back to square one. The technical aspects of his game will improve as he gets older, but being a vocal presence is either something you have or you don't.

As daft as it sounds, Blackburn getting to play at Anfield and then at Old Trafford in their situation isn't such a bad thing in as much as there was no real pressure or expectation on them there, no-one expected them to pick up a point, never mind 4 from those 2 matches. With all the flak Kean has been getting lately, I expect their players are happier playing away from home than at Ewood Park and so the test now comes when they play Stoke at Ewood Park in midweek. These 2 results increase the expectation, but a loss to Stoke in front of the Blackburn fans would throw Kean and Blackburn right back to square one.
